Childhood Autonomy and Anti-Authoritarian Parenting
Reich advocated for the radical autonomy of children, suggesting they should be self-directed in their education and life choices to avoid energetic repression. He proposed a reconstruction of the family unit based on mutual respect rather than dictatorial control by the father. This perspective aligns with modern "unschooling" movements that prioritize a child's natural curiosity over state-mandated or authoritarian structures.
