THC 75: Robert Sullivan | The Secrets of Masonic Ritual, Philosophy, & Symbolism
Gnostic Themes in Star Wars and Cinema
Sullivan analyzes the Gnostic and mythological themes in the "Star Wars" franchise, identifying Luke and Leia as solar and lunar archetypes. He points out the parallels between Anakin Skywalker and Jesus Christ, noting that actress Pernilla August played the mother of both characters in different films. The "Phantom Menace" is cited as a modern religious monomyth involving virgin birth and a fallen hero.
