About this episode

Dr. Sam Milham and Thomas Edison’s historical legacy collide in a revelation about the biological cost of the modern power grid. Milham, a veteran physician and epidemiologist, traces a century of escalating illness back to the 1882 Pearl Street station launch, arguing that the transition to alternating current opened a Pandora’s box of chronic disease. He presents evidence that the grounded Y system used by North American utilities allows return currents to saturate the earth, leading to freshwater electrocutions in the Puget Sound and the electrification of residential concrete slabs.

Specific data from Johns Hopkins and the Wisconsin dairy industry suggests that electromagnetic fields drive diabetes and reduced milk production more than dietary factors. Milham details how solar inverters, smart meters, and fluorescent lighting generate high-frequency transients linked to leukemia, lymphoma, and the Moscow Embassy microwave incident. He asserts that corporate entities like Kaiser Aluminum and utility-funded researchers at the Electric Power Research Institute actively suppress these findings to protect infrastructure investments. From military suicides linked to primitive air conditioning to cancer clusters at San Diego State University, the evidence points toward a systemic environmental crisis.

Dr. Sam Milham shares personal accounts of his dog falling ill on electrified bathroom floors and his preference for Subaru vehicles due to their light-based safety sensors. He offers practical interventions for listeners, including the use of AM radios to detect interference and the installation of Stetser filters. Host Greg Carlwood reflects on the phenomenon of forest bathing as a necessary escape from the invisible grid, emphasizing the importance of preserving Milham’s decades of controversial research before it is lost to corporate scrubbing.

CHAPTER 01 / 25 Discussion

Dr. Sam Milham and the Dangers of Dirty Electricity

Host Greg Carlwood introduces Dr. Sam Milham, a physician and epidemiologist who has spent decades researching the link between electromagnetic fields and human disease. The introduction notes Milham's professional background, including his recovery from a recent stroke and his initial hesitation to appear on a conspiracy-themed program. Carlwood emphasizes the importance of Milham's book, Dirty Electricity, which explores how constant electrical exposure and corporate negligence contribute to modern health crises.

00:05 In the 1930s, President Franklin Delano Roosevelt addressed the nation through a series of radio broadcast known as the Fireside Chats. His aim was to reassure the common man that our society would recover from its troubled times. From 1930 and I deal with a different kind of fire For a new era of worldly frustration we offer a fresh conversation. I'm Greg Carlwood These are The Hireside Chats Hey there and hello, Hireside Chatters. Just another pre-show announcement from your humble host today to say that this show is only an hour and is coming out as a plus bonus show for now but it's probably just going to be an early release for plus people because I do want to put this out for everyone When we sat down to record this, I had planned for a two hours' show so it kind of put me behind schedule in terms of my obligations to the audience

01:02 But sometimes that's just how it goes. I'm lucky enough to be completely flexible and i'm really glad we were able to do it! I bugged Dr. Milham for a while, to get him to agree because he's very serious about this work and he's been collecting data and sounding the alarm for decades... And for someone who has made this their life's mission and has proved their point over and over again Sometimes they're hesitant to appear on a show that calls itself a conspiracy show and uses some of the logos and imagery that we use. So I had to really make the case that THC is a serious place, And I was really happy when he eventually agreed Dr. Millhem is not a young man anymore and even suffered a stroke last year unfortunately That I learned about during the show

01:55 So I understand the idea of two hours just being way too much of a commitment and it's clear that he has been committed to this work because he is still trying to get the word out despite all this. And that said, I hope you enjoy it and take to heart some of these warnings about a realm of health dangers and corporate corruption that isn't talked about nearly enough. Let's get into it with Dr Sam Milham on the other side Pack it and park it, tune in and spark it Cause Greg's about to open up your mind Armed with information about the secret manipulation And the wisest officianados he can find He's pulling back, parroting on what we thought We knew for certain so that we could see the world With a brand new set of eyes into higher skies

CHAPTER 02 / 25 Discussion

Thomas Edison and the Historical Origins of Electrical Illness

Dr. Sam Milham traces the history of electrical health issues back to the 1880s when Thomas Edison first wired New York City with a direct current distribution system. Workers at the Pearl Street station reportedly fell ill during the early stages of power generation, suggesting that the "magic" of electric light came with immediate biological costs. Milham describes this era as the opening of a Pandora's box of unimaginable illness that has persisted for over a century.

thomas edison· pearl street station· direct current· pandora's box· electrification

02:56 Alright, Hiresight Shedders. How we doing out there from sunny San Diego? I'm Greg Carlwood and we know that our Western ways are so awash with harmful chemicals and unhealthy habits that it can be hard to properly pin down exactly what's what but the purity and integrity of our food water and medicine are all in poor shape And don't seem to be trending in our direction anytime soon And even with the many conversations we've had about all these areas of concern, it seems we missed a major component of the sickness soup that is our modern society which has only recently hit my radar through the work of today's highly credentialed guest Dr. Sam Milham

03:33 Dr. Milham is a physician and epidemiologist specializing in public health, with more than 100 scientific publications and several awards for his work he really is a pioneer in understanding the relationship between electricity and human health And he's well known as being the first scientist to raise the alarm on the frightening link between occupational exposure to electromagnetic fields and human disease Well, despite our wildly unhealthy lifestyles and the many factors we focus on with other guests it's Dr. Milham's contention that it is really our constant exposure to electricity and the shady practices of the corporations involved thats actually killing us He breaks it all down in his great book Dirty Electricity Electrification And The Diseases Of Civilization and I'm really excited to have him here to talk about it A public health hero and true champion of people, Dr. Milham welcome to The Higher Side

04:29 I'm glad to be here. But you've been showing the data that proves we have had a problem for a long time, long before anyone knew these latest terms. And to kick this off with a quote from the book you say when Thomas Edison began wiring New York City with a direct current distribution system in the 1880s he gave mankind the magic of electric light heat and power In the process though he inadvertently opened up Pandora's box of unimaginable illness and death

05:14 Well, obviously that's quite a statement but the point there is that this is not a new problem. Is it? No, if it goes back to Thomas Edison guys who were generating stuff at the Pearl Street station got sick But that's all in the book people could read about the old stuff and you know The other thing I tell people are You know There's a couple populations in the world that have very low exposures to this stuff the Amish Mennonite sect They're all over the North and South America. If you look at them, they're healthier than we are! Unfortunately they don't have cancer their bones are stronger and well I'd want to get ahead of myself but let's go ahead

CHAPTER 04 / 25 Discussion

Grounded Y Systems and Electrical Return Currents in North America

North American utility companies utilize a grounded Y system that allows return currents to travel through the earth rather than dedicated neutral wires. While originally intended for emergencies like lightning strikes, this practice is now used routinely to save costs on infrastructure. Dr. Milham explains that this results in the ground being saturated with electricity returning to substations, which negatively impacts wildlife and contributes to human exposure within the home.

grounded y system· transformers· substation· return currents· utility companies

08:08 Now, that was there initially when it was built for emergencies like lightning strike or wires that dropped and flashed over. But now it's used to save the utilities from putting more wires up on top. All the electricity that comes through your house has to go back to the substation—goes back at the speed of electricity which is nearly as speed of light. Unfortunately, now the ground is full of all the return currents and that's another source of exposure that's increasing by the day. I think it's one of the reasons why animals who live in a ground like wet places are croaking like mad—croak frogs or bibs which have died off. A lot other animals too because they feed on them but anyway

08:57 Europe and other places they've got a grid where all the electricity that goes to your house goes back on the wires like ours should but doesn't anymore. Right, and that was something I was going to get into because when we talked about getting this interview set up. I learned you're not a big fan of that term conspiracy and I understand that but these companies have to know what's going on and they clearly would rather cover it up than fix it and maybe calling it An attack is going too far But you do say in the last 20 years over 70% of electricity We use runs back to the station through the ground rather than neutral transmission lines

09:36 So, like most corporations they're using the earth as a general dumping ground for their garbage. But talk to us about how these utility companies are making things worse than they even have to be? Well you know every state's got a rule that says they can't do that but they do it I mean it says you know...I read The California Law when I lived down there in the winters Washington state your room but it says clearly you can only use that for emergencies and they use routinely. Add a measure to ground everywhere like i used to hike up on the cascade crest trail down here in california,

CHAPTER 05 / 25 Discussion

Freshwater Electrocutions and Ground Currents in Puget Sound

Incidents of freshwater electrocution, such as a fatal event on the Charlotte River, are attributed to electrified water caused by ground currents. Dr. Milham details his measurements on Squaxin Island in the Puget Sound, an uninhabited tribal island where he found significant electrical currents running through the soil. These currents originate from mainland substations and travel through the water and earth, affecting areas far removed from visible power infrastructure.

charlotte river· puget sound· freshwater electrocution· ground current· squaxin island

10:15 You find really strong fields and currents in the earth. And one of the ways it's showing up is freshwater electrocutions down south are going up, exactly like we had right here in this state last year—a couple were floating down the Charlotte River and a girl's heart stopped! They've got all kinds of funny reasons why that happened but it happened because the river was electrified. electric fields and the water. That's the ground current! I used to fish a lot, but I went out to one of the islands in the Puget Sound uninhabited squawkson it was a tribal island actually it was a prison for them for years now nobody lives there nobody can go on it and a tribal guy took me out

11:05 And I measured their occurrence on the island. How'd they get there? They run underneath, they run through the water and up through on land and then down to go back to the substation it came from so that's no place in North America that I've measured. I've measured Alaska and Canada and the West Coast and had other people make measurements back east. If you got a grounded Y system, they got occurred in the ground but shouldn't be here And he gets in our house. Like when I lived in California, I lived at a fourplex in Indio and my dog got sick. It was hot down there and he liked to sleep on the tile floor of the bathroom. Well it turns out that that was hot!

CHAPTER 06 / 25 Discussion

Smart Meters and Electrical Interference in Residential Structures

Residential hazards include smart meters and improper grounding through gas lines, which can electrify concrete slabs and metal fixtures within a home. Dr. Milham recounts his experience in Indio, California, where his dog became ill from sleeping on an electrified bathroom floor. He discusses the difficulty of shielding against smart meters and the high currents measured in the human body when in close proximity to fluorescent or LED lighting in rooms with low ceilings.

smart meters· gas meters· indio california· shielding· fluorescent lights

11:46 It had electric fields and magnetic fields in it, and I found out it was coming into the house from the concrete slab. And as it was getting into the slab from each end of the building they had a gas supply—a gas meter! So if one went to the gas meter another went to ground, I found a whole bunch of electricity that shouldn't be there. Why does a gas meter have electricity? This is before they were making them the Wi-Fi's, like most smart meters. And those are worse for us right? Oh god that's horrible I had a smart meter on my house for couple years when they put it on and I was there and said hey look I don't want that thing well they say well you either have that or we shut the electricity off so what are ya gonna do? So i had it on for awhile tried shielding it but couldn't shield it then came with laws in Washington State saying

12:37 You can opt out. So I did, and I may pay a little more for my electricity but I don't have the damn smart meter to keep me up all night. It was right on my bedroom wall now. My house side there's no place else that could sleep." So anyway, they're getting us through the wires and through the wiring and through the earth. In California, the floor of a bathroom in any metal that was attached to the floor like door jams or windows were hot. You touch them you get appreciable current in your body. That's another thing we were the first to show how to measure the current not approximated from volts times amps equals power

13:17 If you get the power and voltage, you can figure the amperage just by division. But we can actually measure it now with a meter and found out that I put my bathroom light on which is ordinary 6 foot fluorescent or maybe 4 foot, but it puts heavy current in my body. If it's got a high ceiling, that's fine. But if the ceilings are under say 10 feet or 12 feet people in the place are getting exposed and they have fluorescent lights. And LEDs are bad and full of acrylics use compact fluorescents are bad so you know we'd have a lot of stuff to avoid. You know Wi-Fi is one thing we've gotta avoid. We gotta avoid LEDs and fluorescent lights etc. Go on ask questions!

CHAPTER 07 / 25 Discussion

Dirty Electricity in Schools and the Wisconsin Dairy Industry

In Wisconsin, researcher Dave Stetser demonstrated that ground currents negatively impact the milk production and health of dairy cows, which improved once return currents were moved to overhead lines. Dr. Milham discusses his work identifying cancer clusters and behavioral issues in schools, which he attributes to "dirty electricity." He alleges that state public health departments often ignore these findings due to the influence of utility companies.

dave stetser· wisconsin· dairy cows· school epidemics· public health departments

14:09 What you mentioned that the utility companies are supposed to have that extra wire that runs everything back and they just aren't it's more expensive to run that wire so there dumping in the ground what does. I work with Stetser out in Wisconsin, Dave Stetser. He does this every day and what's happened there is the ground current messes up the cows they don't milk any other animals on the ground get sick and they've had some cases where they just had to put that line up through return currents and the cows get better so you know if you can make your cows better you can make people better

14:47 And I went out and measured loads of amish organs. You know, when they buy a house they rip the wires out and sell it silver copper. They don't have any electricity in their barns or...they don't get asthma they don't get a lot of stuff but Unfortunately, I want to live with electricity. We don't have that dirty electricity we can have off-grid solar and then solar wind or another problem in a modern way but if they tied to the grid they had to invert it generate DC and they have to make AC and inverters put through the house wiring into the system

15:29 That's bad. Mm-hmm Yeah, and I did gloss over some of your credentials But you have worked for the Washington State and New York State Departments of Public Health You mentioned earlier they're supposed to be doing this one way And they're not doing it well what are the departments of public health saying about this? Are they just ignorant to it are they overlook in it? I mean these are the watchdogs that are supposed to hold these people accountable Well, look I think it paid off by the utilities. When I was working in Wisconsin we had an epidemic in schools. They actually cleared a couple of epidemics by putting filters and cured the problem but this one Catholic school figured they had to have a problem with cancer in their kids some of the teachers and they just tossed us out. We went through public health people that did no good

CHAPTER 08 / 25 Discussion

Health Conditions Linked to High-Frequency Electrical Exposure

Dirty electricity and high-frequency transients are linked to a wide array of conditions, including leukemia, lymphoma, breast cancer, and suicide. Dr. Milham's historical analysis of mortality rates during the electrification of the United States showed a significant spike in these diseases in electrified areas compared to rural areas without power. He expresses concern that the rollout of 5G technology will exacerbate these issues by placing more transmitters in closer proximity to the population.

leukemia· lymphoma· breast cancer· suicide· 5g technology

16:22 And we really jumped into this thing but maybe we could better define dirty electricity. Is it always coming from the ground? Is it sometimes coming from the wires and devices, how's that hitting us? No most of its coming from other stuff in your house where you put your microwave oven on it puts RF out and if you have LEDs or any inverters in your house thats putting dirty electricity If you're in a neighborhood that's got solar, you've got dirty electricity because it runs into the wires and gets to your house from your neighbors. The perfect place to live would be by yourself on 15 acres with nothing around ya but you'd probably still have stuff in the ground cause up on the Cascade Crest Trail I was 20 miles from anywhere and I could measure this stuff in the ground all

17:11 And let's also break down which conditions we're talking about. This dirty electricity might be responsible for leukemia, lymphoma various cancers even obesity and diabetes which are the really weird ones to understand but what all falls under this umbrella of health conditions and disease caused by dirty electricity? When I first started, I started with leukemia and that's obviously related to it. But over cancers—breast cancer, female breast cancer is a big one and it's their heart disease in this. It's everything except accidents—car accidents if you look at electrified versus unelectrified populations in this country. The book was basically the result of the study I did way back when

17:55 And I just used the death records and I used them by state, and did them nationally. It showed that if you lived in a place where well what happens is electricity they have to run wires through your house from the generating station so the cities got it right away. They got in say ten years of medicine late 1800s but the last farms didn't get electrified I said, you had half a century where you had half the country with electricity and half without it. And I just looked at the difference in mortality rates that were just incredible. The place they had electrification had a whole lot more of everything except auto accidents. Suicide's a big one—that's another one that's an EMF disease.

18:42 I don't know about homicide, but suicide for sure. Who knows? The stuff changes your ionic levels in your blood and calcium ions come out Let's face it, we evolved with like Christianity on the planet. Human residences and lightning that's about it and the Earths fields then all of a sudden they added this stuff in 5G is going to be bad because its putting a lot more transmitters closer to a lot more people I don't care what they put out there It's all bad

CHAPTER 09 / 25 Discussion

Direct Current Benefits and the Inefficiency of Solar Inverters

Direct Current (DC) is identified as a healthier alternative to Alternating Current (AC) because it does not carry the high-frequency "dirty" electricity transients. While solar panels generate DC, most residential systems use inverters to convert it to AC for home use, which creates significant electrical interference. Dr. Milham argues that society should have remained with DC systems, noting that even modern AC-DC transmission lines are plagued by "crap" that causes fires and pipe bursts.

direct current· alternating current· solar panels· inverters· nikola tesla

19:24 This is kind of a weird one but i wanted to ask you in terms of the history about that whole tesla verse edison saga think a lot of folks seem, think of tesla as a future as you want to help humanity and edison has the savvy businessmen who wanted to commercialize the thing. What there is that alternating current burst direct current debate and i'm not sure if it matters anymore but his one less harmful health wise than the other Oh yeah DC is a whole lot healthier for you if you can have it because it doesn't carry the dirty electricity. And dc is what Edison backed? No, Edison was AC man he generated ac at the pearl street substations in New York. Then its bad for the pocketbook and body

20:11 Yeah, well it's bad for everything unfortunately. And you know we could with our technology if we can put people on the moon and get clean electricity or go to a delta type grid like they have in Europe but they've got solar and wind over there so they've got problems those technologies are dirty. Down in California I spent a lot of time measuring the wind farms down in San Diego and then measured a whole lot of solar places and they're all bad nothing good about them Yes i actually think you did a study of a tribe that was living near a wind turbine field and they're great case study as to the damage that can be done right.

20:53 Yeah, there's also—I don't know if it's still on the web but there was a picture of old windmills burning one day or something went wrong with them. I think they had like 20 windmills and they all burned. There were spectacular blades flying off and fire coming out of them. They just put new ones in. People were sick again." So I was trying to look at other sources to kind of educate myself on this stuff because it is fairly complex and what i was reading said that the towers operate on direct current but its the electrical current supplied to the tower that is alternating current and therefore they need to have an inverter, and the inverter is a big part of problem why this mismatching of the two different systems? Why can't we just stick to one.

21:42 We should stick to DC. That's what we should stick to! I mean, all radios run on DC except if you plug them into the wall they've got an inverter that changes AC to DC and that's how solar works. The solar cells make direct current and if you want to electrify your AC house you have to put it through a device that changes the AC to DC In fact, they use AC and DC for transmission. And DC transmission's better. They take the big fire... There is a big DC transmission line that runs down the West Coast but the devices they have at each end to do the AC-DC transmission or vice versa are bad I mean, they put crap in this line That's why you get these fires along power lines and pipes

CHAPTER 10 / 25 Discussion

Solar Panel Risks and Residential Mitigation Strategies

Homeowners who install solar panels may inadvertently increase their exposure to harmful electrical frequencies due to the system's inverters. Dr. Milham suggests that the only effective mitigation is to shut the system off while at home, as physical shielding is often insufficient. He criticizes new California building codes that mandate solar installations, viewing them as a long-term health risk for future generations.

solar panels· green energy· silver hats· california building codes· mitigation

22:30 They run everything down the same corridor, you know pipes and power lines. And the pipes burst! The current makes them weak and they blow. We had a bunch of people killed on a pipeline blew in line up here I'm sure that's what happened Yeah we really have been kinda tiptoeing around that paper you have the dark side of clean energy or the dark side of green energy and. So i do know people who have recently put solar panels on their house thinking they're doing the right thing can they fix that i mean they just made a twenty thousand dollar investment how can they fix it so they're not cooking themselves. What's up with your work come home shut off for you go to sleep,

23:16 That's all you can do. If you're there in the house, you get exposed. So if you work from home... You're just done? You're screwed. Ah! There is no kind of tweaks that you can do to the system itself? Oh no, you could wear yourself a silver hat or whatever but nothing is going to help ya. You walk around your house and it has got solar during the day and you are getting exposed Wow well that sad to hear It is Now they got rules in California that all houses have to have silver after a certain date. Bad news, but I'll be gone and won't worry about it. I'm not going to live another 15 years."

CHAPTER 11 / 25 Discussion

Occupational Hazards and the Moscow Embassy Microwave Incident

Studies of paper workers, carpenters, and electrical workers reveal consistent patterns of lung cancer and other morbidities associated with high-frequency electrical exposure. Dr. Milham provides a different perspective on the famous Moscow Embassy incident, claiming the staff was not targeted with microwaves, which cannot penetrate thick concrete. Instead, he asserts that the Russians ran dirty electricity through the building's wiring to induce illness in the occupants.

occupational health· paper workers· moscow embassy· high frequency· cancer clusters

24:01 I do like that you've sort of focused your career on occupational hazard for one because i think a lot of companies put people in harm and either don't care or don't put the effort into really knowing all the hazards involved but as you say, it also shows that a condition is situational and thus preventable. Can you give the people an example about maybe big occupational studies you did? I studied the paper workers in the state, I studied carpenters internationally US and Canada. They've got their problems but people have studied electrical workers and they all show the same problems you know? They get exposed to the same stuff we are anymore! And it shows up in mortality morbidity patterns. One study really helped a study of Canada where they had different meter measuring high frequency

24:54 And that showed lung cancer, I mean that's smoking cancer in people who have high frequency exposure. That's about the time when I learned about that and I learned about stuff Stetser and Marty Graham were doing with cows in Wisconsin and I hooked up with them and that's what dirty electricity is it's high frequency stuff that shouldn't be there. The 60 cycle was bad but not as bad as the high-frequency stuff Like they talk about the Moscow Embassy being microwaved by the Russians. They didn't put microwaves in! The walls are made of three-foot concrete, microwaves don't go through three feet of concrete. They just ran dirty electricity into the wires

25:35 Nobody knows that. I talked to a guy, he's good Russian but it happened down in Shubai they've had a place where people get sick the stuff makes you sick let's face it. Yes the La Quinta middle school teacher situation the cancer cluster there that's one of your big claims to fame isn't? Yeah but unfortunately those teachers are still getting exposed the school district and the politicians down there There's another school I worked at, it was an elementary school in North Palm Springs. Anyway, I wrote up a book and they've got an even worse problem. Teachers all have breast cancer! And the kids were nuts! We fixed the craziness of the kids by filtering their rooms but...

CHAPTER 12 / 25 Discussion

Filtering Dirty Electricity in Schools and Daycare Centers

Efforts to clean up schools, such as the La Quinta middle school and a YMCA daycare, involved installing electrical filters to reduce high-frequency transients. Dr. Milham reports that while these filters improved student behavior and health, they were often removed or discarded by administrators. He compares the poor health outcomes in the United States to regions using the Delta grid system, suggesting electrical exposure is a primary driver of high healthcare costs.

la quinta· school board· filters· daycare· electrical exposure

26:27 I went to a school board and pitched, hey clean the place up for you for free. So as far as i know they're still getting exposed another real winner I had down there is that cleaned up here at this look into schools or YMCA daycare center boy that was really filthy. As I cleaned that up you know what the filters put him in I was back down on a visit and went in to check out the place, what it's doing. God, the filters are gone! They take them out, toss them or sold them until they've done something that nobody would own up to what had happened or why so that kids are getting exposed again unfortunately. So you gotta watch these people like a hawk. Right? It's just like everything is leaning towards maximizing the damage done by this stuff there's no filters, there's no anything

27:21 You know, we got in this country. If you look at compare our health results to places that have the Delta grid were worse, you know? We spent a lot more money on health and the results aren't as good. I think part of it is due to electrical exposure. No, no, I don't know. A large part of it's due to electrical exposure and unfortunately that's how it is. And another study you did was On aluminum plant workers at kaiser aluminum and you say,

CHAPTER 13 / 25 Discussion

Corporate Corruption and the Suppression of Scientific Data

Dr. Milham details instances of corporate interference in public health research, citing a case where Kaiser Aluminum hired a consultant allegedly funded by Monsanto to neutralize his cancer findings. The discussion expands to broader systemic corruption, including the influence of AIPAC on Congress and the Boeing 737 Max software failures. Milham argues that private interests and lobbying frequently override public safety and scientific integrity.

kaiser aluminum· monsanto· aipac· boeing· corporate lobbying

27:57 When you did that study, management of Kaiser retained Sir Richard Dahl to neutralize my cancer findings. After he died it was revealed that Monsanto paid him $1500 a day for many years. That's the sort of thing that doesn't surprise me anymore and its'a major factor in this suppression of this sorta data but how often have you run into situations like this? Hey look where really happens is with Congress Why do we give Israel 23,000 bucks a family every year for free? Because AIPAC, the pro-Israeli lobby which is representing a foreign country and they're not even licensed. All the other people that want to represent other countries are licensed. They take entourages of our congresspeople over there to Israel and put them in nice hotels and feed them good stuff

28:48 You know, hey look it we're going to have this problem until we get federal funding for elections and no more of this giveaway stuff. Like if you got paid for a prison so the prison people will spend couple million bucks in terms of bribes that's what they are is bribes And they got their way. Why should you have to pay for prison? It's crazy! I look at them all, and look at Boeing with these, they make great planes but these two that crashed on account of a software problem

29:32 That's just nonsense. And that they'd even let the things fly, and they sold some of those planes with a fix on there that companies had... people who bought the planes had to pay more money for it so you could watch safety because you gotta buy it but anyway I hope it doesn't put them under... They'll survive Business will slow down for awhile but they all survive Oh yeah these handful of companies that have been around longer than me maybe even longer than you they don't go anywhere they always weather every storm and offload all responsibility in any kind of penalties they might pay their gonna come to, you and i there not gonna hurt their bottom line or come from your shareholders at all you know still working tomorrow.

CHAPTER 14 / 25 Discussion

Office Building Lighting and the Benefits of Sunlight

Contrary to popular belief, melanoma and other cancers are often more prevalent in office workers than in those who work outdoors, suggesting electrical lighting is a significant factor. Dr. Milham discusses the protective benefits of sunlight, noting a correlation between high UV exposure and lower rates of multiple sclerosis. He shares an anecdote about a relative whose MS symptoms improved after taking an outdoor job, emphasizing the importance of Vitamin D and natural light.

melanoma· multiple sclerosis· vitamin d· office buildings· sunlight

30:26 Lighting is important, you know. Big office buildings in San Diego or LA or anywhere else in the world and most of them have fluorescent lights or LEDs and that's a bad source of exposure I was wondering why people who work these healthy... if you compare guys who work at dirty shops to The cancer rates are highest in people who work in office buildings. And a lot of other stuff that is high, like you showed the cancer that's related to sunlight melanoma it's a lot more common than people who don't have any sunshine exposure and those guys who work outdoors so you know damn well its not the sunlight, sunlight does it but electricity gives it too for sure

31:14 Well there was also something really interesting about sunlight in one of the papers that you have where obviously we have this. Idea that sunlight is causing cancer and you write about a study of multiple sclerosis and vitamin d saying that the results show that. The more sunshine there is where you live the less m s there is in u go on to say that your first cousin developed them as you told him to get a job outside he did it's been minimal ever since i think thats probably worth a mention, I talked to him last year, back in a visit for really close friends and his brother. He's got other problems with old age but he doesn't have SMS anymore. Wow! People are spending so much money on our broken healthcare system to fix these debilitating conditions and all you need to do sometimes is go outside or limit your exposure? You'd think so.

CHAPTER 15 / 25 Discussion

Identifying Dirty Electricity with AM Radios and Meters

Consumers can identify "dirty" electrical sources in their homes using a simple AM radio tuned off-station; a buzzing sound indicates high-frequency interference. Dr. Milham recommends using old-fashioned incandescent bulbs over modern LEDs or compact fluorescents, which often emit high levels of dirty electricity. He also mentions a breast cancer cluster at San Diego State University linked to the building's elevator motors and environmental radiation.

am radio· magnetic field meter· incandescent bulbs· san diego state university· elevator systems

32:12 What am I laughing at? It's not funny. I mean we laugh so we don't cry, right? Yeah, I guess well another thing i thought was interesting because it's just right down the road from me San Diego State University you had a situation where there was a cluster of eight cases of breast cancer in a short period time come to find out it was electromagnetic radiation from the elevator system Well, I don't know what it was from but it was something environmental in that place I've done a lot of stuff down in that area. They had like, a motor, yeah that's right! I remember forgetting it! And I've had a small stroke a couple years ago and my memory for specific places is not as good as it used to be. But yeah there are all sorts of occupational problems due to unusual exposure to high frequency fields and high levels of dirty electricity. Unfortunately they're going

33:09 either get new electricity system or else clean up all the dirty places. Yes, and you mentioned the lighting and that's something I wanted to maybe have you elaborate on what is the best kind of lighting to put in our home or office? Is there any kind? Yeah, the old incandescent types look they can make clean fluorescence, they can make clean LEDs but they don't go out buy stuff just by the old vacuum pack 60 to 100 hertz bulbs and use it. Some places, written laws you can't buy them anymore but they're still around. I went in the store and bought a few bulbs. Yeah, I just find that so curious the way the legal infrastructure is changing to support things that aren't good for us! Well with lightbulbs you could take an AM radio and tune it off station put it near the bulb if doesn't buzz its okay

34:06 You can find them when you're shopping. That's right, put it near a microwave or dirty bulb or anything else that is putting out the stuff. Some of the old TVs used to be bad but new ones seem pretty good So have you we talked about the fact that we have this neutral capacity return wiring that is not happening has there ever been a kind of, i building built an office building or something where they do take all the right precautions are maybe the advice you would give them and. Build something thats made specifically to kinda stop this dirty electricity

CHAPTER 16 / 25 Discussion

Residential Exposure Sources and Military Radio Hazards

Major sources of electrical exposure in the home include high-consumption appliances like microwave ovens and improper wiring. Dr. Milham notes that even driving can result in high readings due to magnetic metal in tires and rotating components. In Palm Springs, he used directional RF meters to trace illnesses back to transmitters located on high-rise buildings blocks away from the affected individuals.

microwave ovens· military radio· tires· rf meter· palm springs

34:59 No, I thought of the idea of trying to... Well too old for it now but somebody oughta build for all these people who are being sick by this stuff. Build a clean electrically clean place you could do it and you can build just as cheaply as you can build in regular places gotta put it right place you got to build properly and electrify properly But to my knowledge its not being done And so what are some of the other major sources of exposure, say within the home? Like if we were to hear this and be like oh we gotta get our house in order. Where are some of the first places that you would go besides the lighting? Anything that uses a whole lot of juice. You know your microwave... I'm trying to think about my place really clean compared to California

35:53 Well, you can find it with AM radio most of the time. You can find any bad emitters that'll make an AM radio possible because it's radio frequency where you'll pick it up. Yeah, it's that simple huh? Yeah! I've got fancy equipment to measure but I always take the AM radio on. Take your AM radio when you go home to see all places it buzzes. They demonstrate both Yeah, it is a damn shame and

36:30 You have found some really fascinating and surprising places where we're being damaged. Radio operators in the military, ham radio operators... you've even gotten high readings while driving that you discovered was because of the magnetic metal wiring and rotating tires! That's interesting. Yeah well cities are bad I mean I used to carry my meters when I drove around San Diego and South California Boy, there's some places where the Wi-Fi is just—you know every building has got transmitters on it. In Palm Springs I had a couple of places where people were being made sick by this stuff and these transmitters from buildings that are quarter mile away they were putting them in bad fields out and they had no idea where it was coming from! If you point the meter at it, bzzz, it buzzes. You point it away, doesn't buzze. I've got a directional RF meter

CHAPTER 17 / 25 Discussion

Farmers Markets and the Dangers of Metal Plumbing

Even outdoor environments like farmers markets can be hazardous if they are located near high-rise microwave or FM transmitters. Dr. Milham highlights the shower as a particularly dangerous area in the home because metal pipes can conduct and radiate electrical fields directly around the body. He recommends specialized retailers like "Less EMF" for consumers seeking meters to measure their personal exposure levels.

farmers market· metal pipes· shower· less emf· advertising bots

37:23 So I could find the stuff that's coming from the source. But then, when I was doing a study of the farmers market in Palm Springs most of the exposure was coming from FM and microwave transmitters on high-rise buildings at the south end to campus but as I walked around in school boy there were some really bad spots! What am I going to tell them? Hey you know you've got a bad spot here! You can't tell people they're gonna think your nuts You can't feel it, you can't taste it. If the stuff smelled bad or tasted bad we'd all be screaming. Indeed that was going to be one of the questions I asked because I have heard you mention that farmers market before and I wasn't sure if it was just its location or if it was all this stuff that people bring to the little cubicles within the market? Well most of the stuff they sold was growing in Hustler. It wasn't gonna kill anybody but

38:21 I didn't go on Sunday when they sold a lot of the junk. You can find out if this stuff is dirty with an AM radio. You can get a magnetic field meter, and it's one that costs a couple hundred bucks Well, you know if you go online and just put magnetic field meter a whole bunch will come up. I do most of my shopping right at the shop recently but from a place in Albany New York called Less EMF I think it's called yeah less EMF mm-hmm Less EMF and there's a couple other places that sell when if you put that out all the competitors to come up

39:13 I hate that with the modern computer. I was looking for some vacation trips and now every screen I bring up has got a nice vacation ship, because i asked for it about a month ago. Yes those advertising bots are quite smart these days yeah that's right And on the subject of unusual places to find high readings what about the shower? Yeah, well in my house in California the shower was a bad place because by where it was its got water running through metal pipes and you have more metal pipes around your body. Down there anything that is attached or came from the floor... Where else would you stay near a pipe like that for very long? You've gotta touch the handles to get hot or cold. They're irradiating too.

CHAPTER 18 / 25 Discussion

Academic Rebuttals and Utility-Funded Research

Dr. Milham discusses the pushback he receives from the scientific community, alleging that many critics are funded by the Electric Power Research Institute, which is subsidized by private utilities. He recounts an incident in an Alabama reservoir where swimmers were electrocuted, illustrating the dangers of freshwater conductivity. Despite constant rebuttals in academic journals, Milham maintains that his findings remain unrefuted by objective data.

electric power research institute· academic journals· peer review· alabama reservoir· freshwater

40:10 Yeah i thought that was really interesting and I wouldn't have thought that at first and i've heard you talk about how this work though it is frustrating that nobody's doing anything, you keep doing it even up into your old age because its kind of exciting. And there are all kinds of twists and turns in the work is always changing your always learning new stuff yeah i want to go down north to where weather gets better Measure the river where that gal got electrocuted. And I want to go down there's a couple women, middle-aged, 40s or 50s went swimming in a reservoir down in Alabama and didn't come home from supper. They found them and the guys who went in to get their bodies they got shocked so they told you what was going on. With no wetsuits they got shocked

41:04 And it's freshwater. Saltwater is so productive, doesn't get to you. It spreads out. This long career you've had and you published some of these early findings about leukemia and cancer, And you had a lot of colleagues that came back at ya. And didn't believe this stuff. You just said hey look prove me wrong! That's all you gotta do we don't need to huff n puff just prove me wrong How are they responding to your work now? I'm sure...of course you haven't been proven. Yeah yeah look it hey...that's interesting About 10 years ago I wrote a paper and a couple of guys took professorship.

41:45 One guy from the UK, one guy from here wrote a critique and the critique was full of crap. And every time I read a paper now they tip their hand. They had to acknowledge in one of recent papers, one of recent critiques that they write about six or seven years ago now. Every time I write a paper these guys write nasty rebutts but it doesn't make sense! I wrote about it in a book, and said hey show them wrong. Show that what we found was wrong and you showed that it doesn't exist instead of going into these esoteric bullshit comparisons but whatever. Your guy can X out the shit.

42:33 No, unfortunately those guys are getting paid by Electric Power Research Institute which is wholly owned and wholly subsidized by the private utilities. It's a lot of money and they probably give these guys a big chunk of dough to write these stupid papers but you know I read in some same journals usually or the editor said hey we got another one of these disclaiming letters And he finally told the guys, don't bother sending these to us anymore. But you know the other people that don't do it but anyway...

CHAPTER 19 / 25 Discussion

Military Suicides and the Impact of Air Conditioning

High suicide rates in the U.S. armed forces may be linked to electrical exposure from primitive air conditioning equipment used in Middle Eastern deployments. Dr. Milham observes that suicide rates are lower among sailors and those stationed in cooler climates where such equipment is not required. He briefly mentions politician Pete Buttigieg's recent trip to Israel as a point of interest regarding political influences.

military suicide· middle east· air conditioning· electrocution· pete buttigieg

43:10 You can't believe everything you read. I don't care if it's in a good journal. Well, we've mentioned a couple of really serious conditions like leukemia and various cancers... How about suicide? Yeah that's a serious one! Well my question was going to be are these conditions reversible by getting away from this stuff? Suicide of course not so much but are any of these other conditions? Yes yes yes no suicides really high in US armed forces But it's not high in sailors. It's not high in people who weren't stationed in the Middle East, and the Middle East air condition, they don't know how to do it and people get electrocuted you know?

43:51 Really primitive equipment and they were getting exposed. I'm sure you could get rid of a lot of suicide. Right, i mean my thought would be that some of those suicides would be related to some other horrors they see over there now No, no. It's not the guys who were shooting it's cooks and anybody else who worked over there And people who are stationed in cooler climates don't commit suicide People fly planes or out ships don't commit suicide Just these people were stationed at places where they were spending two billion dollars on oil to air condition Hmm

44:32 Interesting i think it will turn up in the paper. Are you really are not interested but i'm not gonna have said enough with this book i mean anybody can take its written and, it's well segmented it's written in these little segments where you know you can digest one thing before going on to the next and it makes a pretty ironclad case i don't know how much more you need to put in it Yes, I want to get the car. Yeah, there are a lot of stuff that aren't some new ones are not the two candidates i'm wondering how many have been good judge got here near some place yeah mayor pete budaj edge he just got back from a trip to israel thank god for him

CHAPTER 20 / 25 Discussion

Solar Inverters and the Development of Diabetes

The solar industry is aware of the health risks posed by inverters, as evidenced by internal white papers and high rates of diabetes among workers at solar generation sites. Dr. Milham cites a specific case near Palm Springs where a majority of workers developed diabetes shortly after the facility opened. He argues that the global rise in obesity and diabetes correlates more closely with electrification than with changes in diet.

solar inverters· diabetes· obesity· palm springs· white papers

45:28 Yeah, I thought he wasn't so bad. But hey yeah that's a red flag Who knows? That's one thing I'm sensitive to and uh... but anyway Well, one thing I like to focus on when we're looking at some material that is new to people and kind of complex is who really knew what when? And when it comes to the solar panels, I've heard you say that the industry knows the solar inverters are the problem. You've read white papers where they pretty much put it in there. Not just that but I went places where they generated it. There's one place out there south of Palm Springs

46:08 They had like 15 guys work there, about eight of them developed diabetes at the time they worked there. And they were only a couple years old and I didn't write that up but just told telling everybody they want to find out well diabetes is for sure tied to this. Can you elaborate on that because so many people are already kind of pre-programmed to assume it's diet related? Diabetes and obesity too! You'd think this would be about the food we're putting in our body I go to my website, and I got papers on obesity and diabetes. The obesity stuff showed that if you look at the places in the world where people are fattest or places where they're getting these exposures—and that's in the South Seas now. It wasn't always that way. They used to eat just fish and stuff but they harvested it. Then World War II came, we brought in troops and U.S. food, then they got fat!

CHAPTER 21 / 25 Discussion

Economic Recessions and Improved Public Health Outcomes

Historical data shows that mortality rates often improve during economic recessions, a phenomenon Dr. Milham attributes to reduced electricity consumption. He notes that affluent populations with high electrical usage tend to have poorer health outcomes compared to those in poverty or groups like the Amish. Regarding modern technology, he expresses a preference for Subaru vehicles because they use light-based safety systems rather than the radar-based collision avoidance found in other brands.

economic recession· mortality rates· cuba· subaru· collision avoidance

47:07 But anyway, I don't want to get into a big tribe on that. Well here's a little mind blower that i love from your book you talk about this weird correlation between economic recessions and better health that has puzzled scientists for years where in recessions we get better life expectancy and mortality rates despite the conventional knowledge that they would get worse And the contributing factor might be people not being able to keep the lights on is that right? That's it. You look at every time we've had a big recession in this country, people have gotten healthier and it happened down to Cuba too when things got tough down there. Unfortunately if you're affluent and you can have a lot of electricity, it kills ya! That's why the Amish don't use electricity because it doesn't kill them. And that's all with drugs and stuff that people take

47:58 You get a headache, and headache is one of the main major symptoms of this stuff. Headache and funny pulses because I used to get funny feelings down in that house in California before when we moved up here again it was just what a difference up north! I got nice clean house but ground current doesn't get into my house because its on post and posted beam Down there they had a slab, no basement. There's no way to avoid this stuff. Thick rugs you know that's about it. Well right in terms of the types of houses people have their basements their slabs they're on some kind of maybe risers or stilts what is the best option? Something that gets away from the ground number one I guess being an Amish house or DC house off-grid that'd be the best way to live You can have your electricity and

48:51 And it's not going to get you. AC is bad, that's all electricity is AC except some places where people live off grid. I know, what if I got a 19 year old truck We got another old car and we're going to go buy a car. And I started doing research, found out all the new stuff has got these collision avoidance devices which are radar you know? That's bad news except for Subaru so I'm gonna buy a Subaru. They use lighting which is just whole lot safer. It's safe compared to putting x-rays out or

CHAPTER 22 / 25 Discussion

Consumer Advocacy and the Spiritual Impact of EMF Research

The lack of consumer advocacy makes it difficult for the public to find reliable information about the dangers of 5G and dirty electricity. Dr. Milham reflects on how his career has influenced his worldview, stating that he remains agnostic and views electrical interference as just another environmental stressor. He expresses concern for animals and humans alike who are unable to control their increasingly electrified environments.

consumer advocacy· 5g· agnosticism· environmental stress· spirituality

49:42 Can you imagine working at a toll booth and every car comes up to zap on ya? Wow. So people haven't thought ahead, electric cars. I mentioned a couple of really bad news that wouldn't have one. I measured it and found that it was clean. Wow, yes! If you know what you're trying to get, you can get it but people just don't think about the problems Yeah well there's not a lot of consumer advocacy out there anymore It's really tough to find good information when everything is so compromised Well there are a lot of people who are interested in this 5G I hope they can stop it By the time we get it out here I'll be gone I won't have to worry about it But now I got grandkids

50:28 What are the people who wrote this comment. Well it is so sad but that's why i wanted you to be here mean that's what i try to do with most of the gases find credible experts who are kind of isolated in their position and we've already talked about a giant industry, that pays people to give out the counterpoints but its hard for the average person to Find a book like yours and be like you know despite what everything's telling me i'm gonna trust this guy cuz we can't see it. No no you can feel it there is your paranoid i know where to bed, try to avoid those places unfortunately activities that happen when good weather is farmers market downtown

51:20 And one day I measured down there, my God! I couldn't believe how bad it was. Lots of sources but you know...I told people about it and one of the guys that used to shop with started leukemia and he only worked there a few days a week or whatever. And this might be an odd question but i'm just curious how is this work affected the way you think about the human body because sometimes when people start talking about energy fields or aura's are shocker is there the bodies electromagnetic system eyes can roll people tend to like what they can see, put the body is pretty complex i know your parents were orthodox christians which might relate but

52:04 Has this gained knowledge had any sort of effect on the way you think about the body or unseen parts of it, or even spirituality? I'm a spiritual addict, I guess. I mean...I'm completely agnostic and this work has made me more so if anything. Like it's all right here and it's just another environmental stressor like hot weather or anything else that is bad and I feel bad for the animals that can't control their environment but we're kind of that way too you know? We're all grinding into ground in dirty cities well anyway

CHAPTER 24 / 25 Discussion

Greg Carlwood's Reflections on Forest Bathing and Recessions

Following the interview, Greg Carlwood reflects on the concept of "forest bathing" in Japan, suggesting its success may stem from removing individuals from electrical environments. He reiterates the surprising link between economic depressions and increased life expectancy, theorizing that forced electricity rationing could be the cause. Carlwood expresses his deep skepticism of corporations and his appreciation for Dr. Milham's lifelong dedication to exposing these hidden hazards.

forest bathing· japan· mortality rates· corporate skepticism· greg carlwood

55:14 Alright, well doc it is a lot to take in but I have so much respect for your work again The book is dirty electricity. You've been doing this your whole life been very dedicated and I really appreciate it again. I'll put links to your website It is your name and Thanks so much keep fighting the good fight. I'm glad you've been around Take care Alright guys, Dr. Sam Milham doing his thing fighting back the big machine and exposing the untold dangers of working on the ground floor of some of these shady companies He's like the Aaron Brockovich of dirty electricity And he has definitely made me more aware of a subject area that I think a lot us are probably quite ignorant of

56:05 I know we hear about 5G and smart meters quite a bit, but this dirty electricity issue is still within the realm. But it's completely untalked about and it has been going on for a long time His book does cover a lot of ground and I had some other things that I wanted to bring up but didn't know we were only getting an hour until... We got to an hour! But thats okay Obviously i was able to fit in quite a few questions and just an hour because doctor milham's responses were. A little more direct than some of our longer winded guests that's for sure one thing i got thinking about was forest bathing this somewhat mystical idea we've been talking about the japanese having success in healing by going out into the forest well maybe they're just getting away from their electrical environment,

57:00 I also thought the mortality rates, i mean we did talk about this but those mortality rates during recessions and depressions not really correlating to the conventional wisdom was also interesting. Maybe it does have to do with not being able to keep the lights on or having to ration electricity that ends up boosting your health even in times of poverty I'm no scientist, i'm just going off Dr. Milham's work of course but I do think this is all really interesting and food for thought for sure you know? I don't trust a corporation any further than I can throw them so to see someone calling them out it's a beautiful thing

CHAPTER 25 / 25 Discussion

Higher Side Chats Plus Membership and Show Outro

Greg Carlwood concludes the episode by explaining the release schedule for the interview and thanking his Plus members for supporting the show. He emphasizes the importance of archiving interviews with aging experts like Dr. Milham before their knowledge is lost. The segment ends with the show's closing theme music and a final call for listeners to consider independent media subscriptions to avoid commercials and corporate influence.

higher side chats· plus membership· podcast archive· dr. sam milham· independent media

57:42 It's also why this really is just going to be a timed exclusive for Plus People, because I'm sure it can be frustrating to have spent all these years on this. Feel as if you're not being heard or your expertise appreciated and so i don't want to hold him back either and I'd like to at least get him the largest audience that I can out of respect but I also want to treat the people who do keep the THC train moving or we wouldn't be here So when a show like this comes up that falls outside of the normal routine, I try to think of ways to still make it an overall win-win. And i know we talk to a lot of credible experts in different areas and its common to hear laundry lists of conditions assigned to issue A B or C and can be confusing and hard to know exactly what is causing what but I try not get too bogged down on those specific details

58:40 I think whether or not dirty electricity is, say the leading cause of obesity. I think we should still be aware of it and limit our overall exposure you know whether this is the number one issue were facing or the number seven issue were facing its still something to be aware of and I think we hit on several areas of exposure especially in the home that many of us probably didn't see coming We also heard about how these corporations funded their own experts in smear campaigns, and how Dr. Milham has had to deal with that too! But his book is short and sweet—one part autobiographical memoir and then one part rapid-fire explanations of different case studies he's worked on, and different segments of workers who were damaged by the environment their employees put them in

59:31 and of course the improper wiring and dumping that they still aren't being held accountable for. So good stuff, and I absolutely have a lot of respect for what he's done And i know sometimes the aging guests we talk to can be a bit hard to hear but for me these are really important interviews to get under my belt To get into MY archives It's like collecting pokemon But sometimes it's either Get them now or Don't get them at all But consider this a little extra icing on the THC cake this month thanks for being a plus member. Or if you're hearing this when it's out for everyone, you're welcome! Consider signing up to the full show because it is my only source of income and focus is to concentrate on continuing to put out high quality shows that has very little fluff and no commercials or unrelated wasted time

1:00:24 That said, I'm getting out of here. Big thanks to Dr. Milham again, Dirty Electricity is the book and i'll see you next time!
