The Kanga Giants and the Building of Stonehenge
Reverend Robert Gay's 17th-century writings regarding the Kanga Giants of Somerset are examined. Local mythos suggests these giants built Stonehenge as a trophy of victory after defeating an invading tribe from the east. This narrative links the megalithic construction of Stonehenge directly to a specific tribe of giants known in the regional folklore of Wiltshire and Somerset.
