Trickster Intelligence and Sensory Manipulation in Colorado
The title The Brimstone Deceit refers to the potential for non-human intelligences to use scent as a tool for deception and emotional shaping. An account from a small Colorado town describes a spirit encounter where witnesses reported vastly different sensory experiences; half smelled flowers and saw a beautiful woman, while others smelled brimstone and saw a monstrous entity. This suggests that an intelligence—whether extraterrestrial or interdimensional—may use odors to manipulate human expectations.
