Erik Davis | LSD, Drug Portals, Psychedelic Animism, & The Alien Interface
LSD, Cultural Influence and the Foundation of the Psychedelic Renaissance
Eric Davis argues that LSD remains the most influential psychedelic in Western history despite the current popularity of psilocybin and ketamine. He describes how LSD fueled the 1960s counterculture, influencing music, art, and radical political groups like the Yippies and the Weather Underground. Davis suggests that the psychedelic experience contributed to the emergence of postmodern philosophy by framing reality as a social construction or "carnival illusion."
