Matthew Lysiak | Fiat Food: Money Magic & The American Diet
Ellen G. White, John Harvey Kellogg, Anti-Masturbation Food
The Seventh-day Adventist Church, founded by Ellen G. White, promoted a grain-based diet specifically to suppress sexual urges and prevent masturbation. Her protégé, Dr. John Harvey Kellogg, developed Kellogg's Corn Flakes as a biological tool for this purpose, while advocating for extreme medical procedures to curb carnal desires. This religious movement eventually birthed the American Dietetic Association, which formalized these anti-meat views into government nutrition policy.
