Canaanite Connections and Giant Pageants
The authors explore the link between British giants and the biblical Canaanites, noting that the giant paraded in Salisbury was renamed Saint Christopher, a Canaanite warrior. Traditions of parading giant effigies, such as Gog and Magog in London's Lord Mayor's Show, have persisted for centuries. These pageants are viewed as a way for secret societies and guilds to preserve the memory of Britain's founding giant myths.
