Topic: Jersey Cow

Todd Elliott recounts a strange event where a tame Jersey cow abandoned its calf and disappeared into the woods, an act he recontextualizes through the lens of folklore as being "taken by the fairies." He contrasts this metaphysical interpretation with the materialist view of a veterinarian who suggested a brain worm infection. The story serves to illustrate how ancient people attributed illness or strange events to spiritual entities when out of harmony with their environment.
