Crossing the Abyss and the Kabbalistic Daath
In Western esoteric traditions, crossing the abyss is symbolized by the hidden Sephira "Daath" on the Kabbalistic Tree of Life, which correlates to the North. The Hebrew letter Gimmel, meaning camel, represents the vehicle used to cross this symbolic desert to the other side. Within Freemasonry, the "plumb line" of the Great Architect serves as a physical symbol for this world axis.
