Lyle Blackburn details the 1988 sightings of a humanoid reptilian creature in Bishopville, South Carolina, known as the Lizard Man. The case gained national attention following an alleged attack on 17-year-old Christopher Davis near Scape Ore Swamp and reports of vehicles being vandalized by an unknown animal. Blackburn describes his research process, which included interviewing the retired sheriff and reviewing original police documents.

Law enforcement and researchers discovered several sets of tracks near Scape Ore Swamp, some of which were preserved as plaster casts. While some tracks were dismissed as potential "shenanigans," others featured distinct three-toed patterns common in swamp monster lore. These artifacts have been featured on television programs such as "Destination Truth" and "Mysteries at the Museum."
