Communism, Sex-Pol Clinics and Political Expulsion
Reich joined the Austrian Communist Party in 1927 and established "Sex-Pol" clinics to integrate mental health with revolutionary politics. However, the Communist leadership grew hostile when Reich's therapy led workers to prioritize their families and personal happiness over party production quotas. Reich was eventually expelled from the party in 1934 and became a staunch anti-communist, viewing totalitarian regimes as sources of human misery.
