Cort Lindahl | The Arcadian Mysteries, Oak Island, Edgar Allen Poe, & The Inner Earth
Oak Island Money Pit and the Arcadian Navigation Theme
The Oak Island Money Pit legend in Nova Scotia is analyzed through the lens of the Arcadian theme, derived from the Greek province of Arcadia and the mythological Arcus. Arcus is associated with the constellation Ursa Minor and the Pole Star, which serves as a navigational fix for plotting global coordinates. Lindahl argues that the mention of "Arcadia" in mysteries serves as a tip-off to use a specific point on Earth for measurement.
