Mobilize Recovery and the Civic Engagement Model
The Voices Project and the Recovery Advocacy Project aim to build a "constituency of consequence" by training people with lived experience to organize locally. This model is inspired by the ACT UP movement during the AIDS crisis, focusing on holding policymakers accountable for the overdose epidemic. The goal is to move beyond awareness and toward robust civic engagement to force legislative action.
