Erik Davis | LSD, Drug Portals, Psychedelic Animism, & The Alien Interface
CIA Influence, Cold War Art and the Dark Side of MKUltra
Eric Davis discusses the role of intelligence agencies in shaping post-war culture, noting that the CIA supported avant-garde art and abstract expressionism to promote Western individualism against Soviet control. He acknowledges that MKUltra involved horrific research and torture, which has permanently stained the "acid mystique." The discussion explores the theory that spooks distributed LSD to neutralize revolutionary movements like the Black Panthers.
