Emanuel Swedenborg as the First Modern Contactee
In 1743, Swedish scientist Emanuel Swedenborg experienced a series of manifestations in London that led to 28 years of interaction with beings he believed were from other planets. These entities described inhabited cities on Mars, Venus, and Saturn, which modern science has since disproven. This case serves as a historical example of the trickster aspect of the paranormal, where the entities fed Swedenborg's existing scientific beliefs back to him.
