About this episode

Thomas Sheridan exposes the systematic Roman annihilation of the Druids on the island of Anglesey and the subsequent 1,500-year spiritual cleansing of Europe. The Dublin-based researcher challenges the sanitized myth of St. Patrick, characterizing the Christianization of Ireland as a violent mercenary operation that executed indigenous spiritual leaders and destroyed seventy percent of pagan art. This historical erasure replaced ancestral knowledge with a religious class system that repurposed ancient blood magic into Church dogma.

Sheridan details the Ogham tree alphabet and the surviving standing stones at University College Cork, which represent a continuous spiritual tradition predating the Christian era by millennia. He connects these Druidic roots to the Vedic traditions of India, noting linguistic parallels between deities like Thor and Indra. The conversation also explores the 20th-century sigil magic of Austin Osman Spare and the theory that Aleister Crowley triggered the Loch Ness Monster phenomenon through the Sacred Magic of Abramelin the Mage at Boleskine House. Further analysis covers General James Bruce’s occult influence in Imperial Russia and the Christian practice of exorcising nature spirits to break the human connection to the land.

Dublin artist Thomas Sheridan brings a satirist's edge to the study of ancient Irish megaliths and the psychological conditioning of the modern state. He recounts a childhood visit to the 5,000-year-old Newgrange site in the Boyne Valley, where the sophisticated solar alignments of the winter solstice stood in stark contrast to the bizarre relics of the local cathedrals. Sheridan concludes by defining modern marketing and extreme patriotism as forms of black magic designed to turn the populace into docile automatons.

Thomas Sheridan on Sorcery and the Invocation of Strangeness

Thomas Sheridan, a Dublin-based researcher and author of Sorcery! The Invocation of Strangeness, joins the program to discuss the hidden history of magic and the Druids. The conversation focuses on the power of visualization, sigil magic, and the idea that individuals are co-creators in a universe of probability rather than victims of a systemic cabal. Sheridan’s background as an artist and satirist informs his perspective on the ancient traditions of the Ireland-Scotland region.

We know they're lying to us, just don't know to what degree. Where would we be without THC? The highest side chad show. Great Carl Wood and Company

03:19 Abra-cadabra, Hireside Chatters! Let's talk magic. Because magic is one of those things they just don't want us to know about and the power to craft and influence your own reality is one the shadowy puppet masters of The Power Pyramid would rather just keep for themselves But we've talked with many guests over the years who have preached the magical worldview, the power of visualization, abundance-generating exercises, deep meditation, dealmaking with ethereal entities, sigil magic, ceremonial magic, astrology, subconscious strengthening, developing spirit allies and a whole Pandora's box of magical systems tools and disciplines that all insinuate the same thing.

04:02 That you're not just the victim of an insane system and the constant bombardment of the capstone cabal, but really a powerful co-creator in a wavy universe of probability and potential just waiting to be tipped in your favor. Though it does take work, and its also good to get reminders of this esoteric and necessary knowledge because everyone is ready and waiting to tell you there's nothing to see behind door number three and ladies and gentlemen I disagree Here to talk about these things through his own experiences and research is a powerful advocate of the power of magic, Thomas Sheridan. Thomas is an independent alternative artist, author, satirist, comedy writer, musician, public speaker, and researcher from Dublin Ireland. He's probably best known for his book Puzzling People The Labyrinth Of The Psychopath but he has also done work on a plethora of interesting and alternative topics including his latest book Sorcery! The Invocation Of Strangeness

04:55 From the land of ire, a student and teacher of many strange aspects of the construct. A true sorcerer extraordinaire Thomas welcome to The Higher Side Well thank you very much for that eloquent and comprehensive intro I'm really looking forward to this Yeah man i am really psyched as well! I really liked your book Sorcery And I've seen a ton of your presentations on YouTube Really fascinating stuff And to unpack the true history of the Druids as well as the knowledge that the Romans tried to wipe out along with them is something I'm really interested in. I think a lot of people listening know that the old ways have been wiped out all around the globe, but there definitely seems to be something exceptional about the Ireland-Scotland area—the folklore, the stone circles, the traditions

CHAPTER 03 / 19 Discussion

Newgrange Megalithic Structures and Childhood Psychological Conditioning

A childhood visit to the 5,000-year-old Newgrange megalithic site in the Boyne Valley served as a catalyst for researching ancient Irish magic. While the site features sophisticated solar alignments during the winter solstice, the educational system at the time juxtaposed these ancient wonders with bizarre Catholic relics in nearby cathedrals. This experience highlighted a form of psychological conditioning where indigenous ancestral knowledge was suppressed in favor of Church narratives.

newgrange· boyne valley· winter solstice· catholic church· megaliths

05:43 It's all pretty fascinating, but I guess what were some of the first threads you pulled on where you realized oh man there is a huge story here. A huge body of knowledge that has been attacked and maybe it has more value than what we're given today? I can recall it very clearly i was ten years old in primary school and they should take us on school trips, in the spring time around visiting famous places with a bus ride of dublin. School hire a bus when the place that took us to is the boy in bali about fifty miles north of dublin where the famous megalithic structures new grange

06:20 Stonehenge and now these are five thousand year old neolithic megaliths that have a credible solder alignments there so written into our folklore. And they took us up there and, that camera is 9 or 10. It might be 11 I don't know. And i was just mind blown by it They took us inside the central chamber where on the winter solstice The sun shines right down the central passageway and illuminates the internal chamber which was actually held in Irish folklore for years and no one believed that at all it was a mythology until A scientist eventually slept inside of it in 1960's says hey why are all these hillbillies around here alright

06:58 their time, the Truth. And it was connected to the idea of the Irish mythological God of poetry and sexual romance and it was basically symbolic of his sperms fertilizing the Celtic chamber so they told us this didn't have a sense as kids back then and then after this sensational visit into like the ancient mass magic of our and they took us to a cathedral in the nearby city called drawer that where does ahead of the same inside the glass box you know when these bizarre catholic relics and myself and all the kids from being on high visiting these amazing neolithic structures this place is a magical mythology. And we're taking cds bizarre catholic relic of it happens at a box,

07:42 We were like you know the boss was gone back to school rock white roll taken down with almost like where. What's the word abused psychologically or abused a kind of like mind control thing next day in school the teacher is telling so write some essay on what the trip we took yesterday, And he was talking about this guy the saint in the box and what a great hero of the church you are using it as a marker for our own, i said to the teacher missus can tell us more about new grange these monuments in the boy in bali. I need all day which is the place where they worship the dead so irony good decent route about that. I would make a little bit ancestors and much later caltech ancestors those kinds of supernatural terms very absent so that began the journey from me personally

CHAPTER 04 / 19 Discussion

Catholic Church Corruption of Pagan Magic and Rituals

The Catholic Church is described as having performed a wholesale corruption of pagan traditions, rebranding magical rites as religious dogma. Concepts such as transubstantiation and the Eucharist are characterized as forms of blood magic and sympathetic magic stripped of their original connection to nature. This religious class system mirrors economic structures, where elites utilize magical tools while the general populace is led back to Abrahamic doctrines.

catholic church· paganism· transubstantiation· blood magic· eucharist

08:26 Well, that's great man because I'm right there with you. I grew up Catholic and as a kid you didn't really realize it but Catholic traditions are very dark You got a big human sacrifice on a cross and the cannibalistic ritual of the Eucharist like when you really unpack it Kind of strange but i think you make a great point there about tonality. The thing with the catholic adoption of, the pagan religions is they really took the magic and then they really take it all the pain in magic unwrapped that open this weird kind of bizarre how much to middle eastern dead cold now what's really strange because if u look at a lot of stuff in the catholic rights rituals very very paid in nature but just been switched around away from celebrating ideas of nature

09:11 the human condition and the human experience within the cosmos i'm trying to run this kind of thing like what do we do with this guy in across this thing running on a stick. Can you do it that once you get the payoff so they stole our magic, that's why all over europe holy wells and drew wells all became sacred holy wells in his kind of dollars nonsense and this is very common thing mean Let's just not pick on the Catholic Church. It was a wholesale corruption of paganism that was sold back to us as something very, very different and you have the idea of transubstantiation. That's blood magic and sympathetic magic and all these other kind of ideas that we believe in or know about in Western magical tradition are all inside the Catholic Rite, the Catholic Mass especially when it was the Latin Catholic Mass so yeah absolutely... You see this is the thing your intro said it

10:00 Just like there's an economic class system, just like there is a property class system or just like there is science class system and educational class system. There are the haves and have nots. Well sorcery magic works exactly the same way. The elites have it all until rest of us doesn't exist that was a big point I wanted to put out in this book no so much from conspiracy because people figured this out But then unfortunately they say, well the answers go back to Christianity or they're all devil men. My attitude is that this stuff is working for them and I'm an I'm an insurgent. I want to pace the action." Yes, that is absolutely my attitude as well and uh... i think we get this idea that because the elite are doing so many nefarious things that the magic must be nefarious in disagree i think it's a tool you make a great point about the kind of steam rolling up the pagans in the book he say european magical tradition has been under constant attack by christians and other abrahamic calls from the middle east for almost two thousand years

CHAPTER 05 / 19 Discussion

Roman Annihilation of Druids and the Rise of Christianity

The historical suppression of European magic began with the Roman Empire's targeted annihilation of the Druids on the island of Anglesey following the Iceni revolt led by Boudicca. While the Romans were initially religiously tolerant, they recognized the Druids as the essential legal and spiritual backbone of Celtic society. This campaign evolved into a 1,500-year spiritual cleansing after Constantine the Great converted the Roman Empire to Christianity, leading to the systematic destruction of pagan statues and temples.

druids· boudicca· roman empire· constantine the great· anglesey

11:03 I think a lot of us know that's true but we don't know it on the details is there more you can say about the history of this attack what were some of the major points where the magical tradition took the biggest blows in those early days. What was the first subject The first way you could probably point to it was what was basically one pagan tradition attacking another and that was the Romans and the failed Iceni revolt in Britain, in AD 60-61 ish. Where you all know about the famous story of Boudicca, Boudicea whatever you want to call her, she rose up the Iceni army against their occupying Roman's gave them a helluva beating I might add even though they lost

11:42 The Romans discovered that they really had to, although being pagans they were far more open-minded and tolerant of other religions than say the Abrahamics or the Christians would be. And so they realized how powerful the Druids were central to Celtic Britain society So they annihilated them. They annihilated them on the island of Anglesey, they sent a whole Roman legion across to basically get these shamans and they annihilated him but also Druids were much more than just spiritual things. They also carried the genealogies, the legal structures and very many other things it was a much more powerful and complex position but that was probably the first big attack in this part of the world but again I was pagan on pagan now their real business began with the emergence of Christianity around 300

12:24 very early period of christianity a couple hundred years after the great commission as it's called where allegedly jesus christ told us what apostles to go out there and spread the gospels around the world so this was second temple rabbinical judaism this was not only religion is the thing that people have to get into their heads, the early Christians were not christians they were jewish. I took hundreds and hundreds of years for christianity as we know today in judaism to go separate ways So the earliest ones came out of Syria, they came out of the Middle East. They came out where Palestine would be today, Judea and Egypt and they moved into the Eastern Roman Empire. Immediately they started attacking statues claiming that all the classical artworks had pagan demons inside them

13:09 We all know the famous story of high patient warning of the library of alexandria day eventually made their way into the roman empire until constantine great in the third century realize this would be an idea where i think it's on the rating himself and his own behavior such as boiling is white alive in a bathtub and also he saw the fanaticism, the lack of fear of death within these building christians and he said these will be very useful for the army that's how the roman empire became christian and then from a point on it is just pure extermination the last paid in charge of taking out the fifteen hundred spied the third swedish crusade atlanta for fifteen hundred years to exterminate european pagans you have letters from all kinds of bishops but popes saying that you know maybe killing their pay gains is not good enough what we should rather do was take over the sacred roles and temples and compared with the christians churches it wasn't fifteen hundred year

CHAPTER 06 / 19 Discussion

St. Patrick Myth and the Christianization of Ireland

The historical narrative of St. Patrick is challenged as a fictionalized account created to mask a bloody and prolonged conversion process in Ireland. Rather than a peaceful evangelical shift, the "Patrician" era likely involved mercenary operations and the physical execution of Druids, who were reportedly cast off cliffs. This period saw the conversion of sacred Druid wells into Christian holy sites and the destruction of approximately 70% of pagan art across the continent.

st. patrick· ireland· christianity· druid wells· darkening age

14:04 spiritual cleansing and genocide. And then the Christians, when they completed that wrote all these stories about the great evangelical peaceful conversion of Europe. That is a great point and it's something I was gonna mention because it comes up in the book a lot but I do think we have this general perception that the conversion happened like overnight but it was so much longer bloodier process than people might realize like you said it took over century Well, this fictional character of St. Patrick was a kind of interesting story there seems to be conflicting theories about it some people say that there was an early missionary called Saint Patrick who arrived in the fourth century to Ireland and Britain and he didn't achieve anything I think there's a lot of good truth to that He was a failure basically The pagans laughed at him Now these wouldn't have been guys who walked around in silk green robes And carried you know a bishops crook and had a fish head hat These would've been like guys who were dressed in rags smelly quite insane

15:01 The locals would have thought these guys were maniacs. The pagans were far more refined, they didn't do things like eat insects and castrate themselves. Self-castration was a central point of early Christianity This is another reason why the Romans are impressed with them because they just were so fanatical but then there seems to be a period where Christianity had no impact on Ireland later on a bishop called Ada Sleti commissioned a monk to write a fictional history of a character called St. Patrick, but basically the story says that when he got to Ireland, Ireland was a place of human sacrifice, the Druids used to cut people up while they were alive it was a grim place of horror and death

15:37 Until this fictional character does patrician which i believe is probably a code word for roman invasion not so much with military although it would have been there but mercenaries and that kind of thing classic what we've come to know the kinda cia operation taking place in the early middle ages. they basically killed the druids all over where i live here on the west coast this old place oh saint patrick he cast the druids down here and just by chance it happened to be like 500 foot cliffs over the sea or mountains with a sheer face cliff drop of 1000 feet you know meaning cast them down meaning had his goons throw them off for whatever the patrician crusade was and then they started converting all the druid wells to holy wells dedicate various christians saints now what are the points that christians make

16:21 They say well the europeans were kind of bored with their old pagan god so they long for something new and that christianity from the middle east was new exciting i was a new thing it was fresh what is good before to from the truth all you have to do is look at the pagan temples are built in the classical world. in the nordic world but remember 70% of the pagan worlds art has been destroyed that's why the elgin marbles have their faces smashed off and the temple of athena which was in syria which was first attacked 1700 years ago by christians, was blown up two years ago by isis so the process was completed this is quite frightening and dark thing

17:00 the viciousness that both say Christianity and Islam because of their evangelical nature, jihad and crusade. The unbridled viciousness that those two sects of the abrahamic religion demonstrate towards pagan cultures is quite frightening when you sit down and look at it in a neutral viewpoint like cambridge professor katrin nixie produced a remarkable book last year called the darkening age no holds barred academic but well written an easy to read insight into the absolute carnage on least by christians in the first two hundred years they were in power. Right on yeah i definitely wrote that book title down because that might be something to explore deeper and you make a really good point about just so much of this stuff but we tend to. I trust older records forgetting that propaganda and espionage in perception management is not the new and

CHAPTER 07 / 19 Discussion

Ogham Magical Language and Tree Alphabet Traditions

Ogham is an ancient Irish alphabet system based on trees that served as a magical language for the Druids. While many Ogham standing stones were vandalized with Christian crosses to rewrite history, approximately 300 stones survive, with the majority featuring pagan inscriptions dedicated to entities like the Morrigan. The Druids maintained a secular influence in Irish society as bards (Fíle) until the early 1600s, preserving mythological knowledge despite the Christian onslaught.

ogham· druids· standing stones· tree alphabet· irish language

17:52 that just makes it all that much harder to unpack correctly. And I really do like when I hear new terms or threads of things that aren't really around anymore, and you mention in the book that one of the big things they destroyed was a magical language called Oham that the pagan Irish used and along with that they destroyed dozens or maybe even hundreds of Oham standing stones which is even more nefarious, they vandalized them to put crosses on them and engrave crosses on them so that it made it look like oh Christianity's been here forever. In fact these are Christian which clearly we know now is like not any part of the Christian tradition that I know or the Catholic tradition more specifically but what can you tell us about Oham this magical language that has kind of lost a history?

18:43 What's not really exactly do not quite a lot about it before i go to that important point to make is. You said wait in there beautifully you set up in general we know nothing about the druids well, i'm not saying to all they left no legacy now this is a very british kind of attitude towards because the only thing we know about the druids. In terms of academic sources outside ireland would be kill me or julia sees accounts of the gallic wars is a pure propaganda does not know which are men and all these kinds of things that they wrote but book to true code i showed up as basically on nonsense.

19:19 In Ireland very much so and to a lesser degree in Wales, particularly in Ireland. The Druids remained as a central focus of Ireland until the 1600s until the Renaissance because it's amazing you don't know this after Christianity came along the one thing that the power structures in Ireland said would not negotiate on would be the power with the Druids. But they did agree that it would be secular, they would not practice pagan religion and that they would have all of the functions within pagan Irish culture within the new Christian culture except religion so basically transformed into something in Irish called a Fíle which is basically bards and thats where the bards came along and the last of them disappeared around about 1610 as a result of basically a major war involving Ireland Spain and England but anyway

20:08 The record on druidry in our is a phenomenal and vast because why are true it's actually smoking to the early christian church and talk about over many of the early saints and even religious orders the cold is out of iona between scotland and ireland, they're all druids you were hired by the christians as kind of middlemen but they also save all the old traditional mythology so that we know about things like mistletoe when the power of. the certain trees and that's where the Ohm came from. Now The old stones are basically from the same lineage of the standing stone to the megalithic era. Now the megalith is the idea was standing still having a spiritual significance within pagan, celtics and other societies started the neolithic so long before thousands years before the people ever came along then it made its way into bronze age as lots of bronze age standing stones in a continued on not only an article in the nordic world you see the room stones and so one

21:06 And in Ireland, an alphabet system based on trees called Ohm was developed. And it's pronounced oh-me like the resistor or measurement of resisting ohm although it's spelled OGHAM. Welcome to Irish is a very funny language. Now here's an example we noticed 300 these stones that have survived now It may have been written down on paper In fact there probably was parchment and letter These are all perishable easily destroyed materials And the stones now when i was growing up in school this is all the old stone were used by the early christians are a christian site for use than ireland. Well when you look at it, what's the three hundred stones no most of my arm and somewhere in wales and england.

CHAPTER 08 / 19 Discussion

University College Cork Ogham Stone Collection and Academic Bias

The Ogham stone collection at University College Cork is described as being displayed in a manner that symbolically suggests their capture by institutional forces. Academic study of Irish antiquities is criticized for requiring a pro-Christian bias to achieve accreditation, which obscures the proto-shamanic origins of sites like Stonehenge and Newgrange. These artifacts represent a continuous spiritual tradition that predates the Christian era by thousands of years.

university college cork· ogham stones· jesuits· irish antiquities· archaeology

21:48 290 of them have pagan inscriptions on them very very pagan type almost very similar to nordic paganism very magical language like, so the raven born alive like fire devotions to the morrigan this kind of thing like god's like that goddesses and we were told these are all christian things now there is some vertical slits in their struck with horizontal strips were hit with shapes to make them look like crucifixes. I'm starting to doubt that now because the crucifix probably wasn't even used as a common Christian symbol until the late middle ages, there was no real symbol for Christianity so that's why all these early so-called Christian monuments in Ireland Scotland and England have crosses on them particularly what they call the Croix Petit which is the Maltese cross shape

22:34 You come over here Greg, I will take you and show you a 2500 year old crucifix made of stone that was put there by the Druids 500 years before the so-called birth of Jesus Christ. The so much lies told was about our past it's not even funny but i'm back to the home university college cork has the biggest collection in ireland i went down to see them, preserve inside their museum down there i want that to do an event and i was all happy and i went into seattle. I'm not joking you literally held like prisoners in a dungeon they're mounted on the wall with these concrete and metal straps held around almost like symbolically say

23:16 These are ours now, that's what big jesuit calls by the way. These are ours now and they'll never be free and you're like what the hell is going on these incredibly important artifacts from our history it's horrible many have been pushed over in hidden many were destroyed but whats interesting also some of them were actually carved when we talk about maybe two thousand years ago onto neolithic standing stones The show that I outline in my book, the magical traditions of the proto-shamanic world that built the likes of Stonehenge and Avebury and O'Vora and Carnack and Newgrange. And up in Scotland you have on the Isle of Lewis a place like Scarabray.

23:56 They were part of a continuous spiritual and magical tradition that lasted for thousands of years, and carried tremendous amount the wisdom with them. A tremendous amount of indigenous spiritual wisdom that was simply annihilated by the Christian onslaught. Now the only things we really do have to survive intact are A good bit of the Irish mythological and spiritual traditions, and a good bit of the Nordic. Because remember it took a long time for Christians to conquer the Viking world so the Olmstones is fascinating thing and they're definitely not Christian orange, they are definitely pagan but if you do a PhD course in any Irish university today on Irish antiquities You will not pass unless you hammer your Christian colors to the mast of these ancient incredible artifacts

CHAPTER 09 / 19 Discussion

Indo-European Connections Between Druidic and Vedic Traditions

Druidic culture shares a common Indo-European root with the Vedic traditions of the Indian subcontinent, evidenced by linguistic and mythological parallels. Archetypal deities like Thor and Indra are viewed as variations of the same spiritual concepts, suggesting that ancient Europeans understood the universe as energy waves rather than solid matter. The triple spirals at Newgrange are compared to the Vedic image of Shiva's wheel, both representing the fundamental building blocks of consciousness.

vedas· hinduism· indo-european· shiva· newgrange

24:46 Wow man, you're right there are just so many lies that it gets confusing but you really seem to have a pretty good handle on it and I just wish I could've seen it all in full force. And I guess I would ask you what do you think druidic culture and their magical ways look like at their height when you try to reconstruct that picture? I think they would have been very similar to what you have in the daydream world. I think there's enough there to actually show something well we do know that come from a common indo european route, You have the Indo-European culture that developed about 4,000 years ago in southern Russia. One half of the family moved away into Europe and became the European pagan tradition and the other half went down to the Indian subcontinent and became the Vedic tradition which later on became Hinduism and so on. There's so many similarities between the two things. The archetypal gods are so similar like Indra is the same as Thor and Dunaar and there's

25:47 other aspects to it, the veneration of chariots. There is an amazing detective story there and a project that one day if I don't do it or help do it we need to start doing this massive detective story to glue the Vedic because the Vedas survived in the Vedic archetypes remain intact over thousands and thousands of years there's enough to rebuild a proper number with your something like that i'm talking about proper pagan spiritual. System of veneration or tradition based on this detective story amalgamating both with the baby and then find the commonalities

26:29 For instance, there's the Raven Goddess. It's very common you have the Morgan and Ireland, you have Bran. Well Bran is a horn-headed god but sometimes it appears as that you have the Valkyries of course and then you have the Dhoom Bhavati in Hindu tradition so I'm hoping to get out to Sri Lanka and India in the new year and really get tearing into this because well all you have to do was look at the spiritual science of the Vedas right? To show that they knew about things like quantum mechanics And they knew that the underlying structure of the universe was not made of matter, it was made a fluctuation of energy waves. I guarantee you that both the sailors of the north world and the druids. Of the Celtic world or the calc the gold is what would probably operate in the same spiritual ideas because ultimately it will be derived from a common protoshamanic route that was from the megalith build this as you said yourself at new grange stonehenge you were seeing those incredible stones with these incredible motifs spirals carved into them if these people are trying to express the underlying nature of reality

27:30 There's no difference between the Vedic image of Shiva at the center of the wheel, turning and burning and destroying and recreating the universe. And the triple spirals you see at Newgrange they're both expressing the same magical insight into the fundamental building blocks of the cosmos and consciousness Yeah i really love that stone it was in front of new grange with all the spirals on a very psychedelic type of thing but i think that's another mechanism and which you can see the fabric of reality underneath what we see every day so just really fascinating stuff and in the same way i was educated on the own language in the stones, your book you also write about some major figures

CHAPTER 10 / 19 Discussion

Austin Osman Spare and Working Class Sigil Magic

Austin Osman Spare was an influential English artist and mystic who brought magic into the 20th century by developing a free-form version of sigil magic. Unlike the complex rites of the aristocratic elite, Spare’s approach was rooted in the working-class "cockney mystic" tradition of London. His work significantly influenced modern figures like Jimmy Page of Led Zeppelin and provided a counterpoint to the corrupted magical orders of the Third Reich.

28:14 in the history of the magical tradition. And because so much of that history is lost, could you tell us about a lesser known person or two that you think people interested in this lost knowledge should know about and probably don't? What's the latest to meet austin osman spare is still an obscure character. No he was in english artist and i must be sad a phenomenal artists and actually get that working class which it seems to come from this kind of, what the british author peter act right called the cockney mystics on this may have been development of a kind of magical world among the companies and people of work in classes london

28:55 That gave us the likes of william blake for example the mystic poet gave us a like so william turner to painter he was very much about lineage don't watch later, you was live during time in the second world war and he wasn't able to have alice to crowley no e basically what is the first one to realize. May be because he was working class is interesting how the as a boat so below maximum it generally always appears everywhere you almost took the sorcery and magic of the aristocrats. And true his use of the sigil on the understanding of the sigil as a kind of free form unstructured version all day right,

29:37 Are a magical desire and understood the full power of this almost like higher up with your lipstick aspect. He took magic and brought it into the twentieth century. You know this is a guy who was greatly influenced by jimmy page from led zeppelin, jimmy page of the vast amount office paintings still has his personal collection he was the one who opened up the idea that you continue on this process to the druids again very cockney very english, very long been what's still part of an incredible being magical addition of the calling folk about part of the world

30:12 Which is like an urban shaman, urban magician type thing that existed from the time of data renaissance up until modern times. You still would have had them in London among working class communities people who would've actually done magic. That's another thing too while the aristocrats were keeping magic for themselves and doing rites according to complex classical or egyptian conjure the working class had a very simple more free form concept of working magic. And getting away with it and spare came out of that in world war two i wrote a book called by purgis night on how the nazi's in the third reich talk. The magical tradition of central germany basically corrupted and will totally corrupt and then sought to replace it with the kind of classical roman idea spirituality would you remember that he,

31:05 sold out of hitler painting i don't have a third like even though they were denied later on we're very much magical order very very much so came out of that whole idea of the hacks and tradition, i'm gonna lay the free masonic traditional central germany. And spare these houses blown up in world war two he was under the homeless It was probably because it was such a powerful magical attenuator maybe the nazi bombs actually found him this is a problem when you start practicing magic basically home starts exploding and things like this, you will notice things like electric power constantly fails we're doing this on a vast scale even also as a star as a painter for short while he was seen as great project english art. You can come in great star towards the end of his life. Do some of the biographies out there on

Aleister Crowley and the Loch Ness Monster Origin Theory

A provocative theory suggests that Aleister Crowley may have inadvertently caused the appearance of the Loch Ness Monster during his 1899 performance of the Sacred Magic of Abramelin the Mage. The ritual, which involves extreme physical and mental exhaustion to break through reality's "firewall," took place at Boleskine House on the shores of the lake. Proponents of this theory note that modern sightings of "Nessie" began appearing consistently after Crowley’s intense magical workings in the area.

aleister crowley· loch ness monster· abra-merlin· scotland· nessie

31:55 He was living in this apartment and london basically with a bunch of demons. No who does is all written now i people visit the stuff like this and why don't we know more about these guys what are the united states the magical class system, yeah man fascinating and there's just so much to know And you mentioned Crowley, well in the book you write about Crowley having a residence on Loch Ness which I knew but you also float the idea that Crowley might have even caused the creature to appear due to his working of the right of Abra Merlin the mage citing that all the appearances of Nessie are after 1889. That's provocative maybe there is a connection there huh?

32:37 Yeah i come to believe this is the default origin theory for my well for myself until i get something better, for the lock ness monster there's definitely something going on that lake. Is the same reason like a psa we all videos of their full c. Well the same reason the video is a fuzzy up the lock mess monster the same reason that the videos are both your view of those because they're not actually there What did person is receiving a solid craft or a monster with it looks like a dinosaur is just a mere fluctuation in the quantum field of fabric is broken down on the camera can i capture what the third eye you are the human psyche can perceive and that's why those images are always fuzzy, no step to skeptics always say oh no there's no clear shots of ufo. Course not they're not their disturbances in the field they disturbed the matter around them

33:30 Therefore like crowley went there he was posted six month ritual the other melon the mage and exhausting white involves everything from basically. Empty your bells out starvation masturbation suffering extreme temperatures being a freezing cold water the idea is what magic is to force through your consciousness firewall this reality and into the realities, Now because of issues that were going on with magical orders back outside scotland you have to basically cancel the right body also. probably miss drinking and drugs and things like that having a good time so look if you are practicing magician one of the things you always practice on his water, what are your human consciousness we know this from the world of doctor mojo which i believe is very very good scientific work that. Water directly response to human consciousness absolutely no doubt about that. So here was this guy most powerful magician in the world

34:28 Working on the normal complex and energetically convulsive turbulent right next to a lake, i need gave one of the entities abroad forward. I would suggest is the lock this monster nasty who's probably trapped for all eternity in that water manifest now and again people get a fuzzy photograph fast numbers of people got the seed and That's my theory. Now there is people will say well, St Columba exercised a monster from the lake back in the I think it was 800 or something and no he didn't that's an incorrect... A lot of skeptics like to throw that one out there He actually exercised a serpent or a monster from the river Ness which is a long way from Loch Ness It's the river that does feed it but the actual location where St Columba exercised this demon

35:20 Monster was very big was not on the lake itself but at a river many many miles away and then it was nothing nothing. Then this car shows up start working the other mail in the main right and the next thing you know he leaves and that all these appearances of monsters in the lakes are happening until something better comes along with what is going to close the theory, Oh yeah man i'm with you too and if it's something a theory or elemental i mean that definitely makes sense why its not captured in some net when they troll the lock and its probably why it seems like sightings of maybe died down a little bit at the energy was way more potent near the time of the ritual so.

CHAPTER 12 / 19 Discussion

Christian Exorcism of Lakes and the Suppression of Elementals

Christian missionaries in Scotland and Ireland performed symbolic exorcisms of lakes and rivers to break the pagan connection between human consciousness and nature. These rites were designed to intimidate the populace by demonstrating that their Druids and nature spirits had no power over the new Christian God. Additionally, the practice of throwing "bog bodies" into dark waters was used as a ultimate punishment to prevent reincarnation, a belief central to pagan traditions.

exorcism· folklore· bog bodies· reincarnation· scotland

35:59 I mean, compared to other possibilities. I think that one ranks pretty high on the list and that is another note I took from your book when you mentioned that Christian missionaries exercised every lake and river in Scotland and Ireland. And that's just really interesting to me because it just seems like a strange thing to do and I know there's probably a major psychological purpose to do that at the time but i guess im also curious about the general creatures of folklore elementals and that kind of stuff could they have actually been banishing or erasing these magical beings were they real at some point? well, they would've been real for people who are trying to impress. A lot of these christian monks and missionaries who would be indeed these banishment

36:44 i'm gonna buy a bottle of cool rights on these lakes and what are paying both laws related to water into it you know read my book by very much have a great affection for the work of h.p lovecraft yeah idea that human consciousness so marriage with the depths, all the darkest deepest water this was not lost in our pagan ancestors in fact is named after trying to call me the area where they are in the air at the goddess era but lives in a lake and northern ryan county for money, add the tribe that time there to correct when queen may of the legendary queen on her hand made them female magicians went left they want to live in the late now that's a submerged with the pagan identity into the water from whence it came.

37:31 So this is why ancient warriors would throw offerings into the sea and lakes there was a belief that half of what you wear and i think it's very good because it was at the bottom of the deepest darkest waters so a lot of these rituals to banish monsters quote unquote from these lakes was really a symbolic Act by the christians to say your god do not live in the lakes your consciousness is not living the trees and the mountains that surround them in the rivers in the groves. There's only one god and existence space open heaven above you so they would have been very very,

38:12 aggressive and intimidating rights on the idea would have been to play you up so look at your was have no power over us what if i had no parallel because they haven't got paid mercy arm to the seat in fact, i think it was a lot of airning county donnie go there's a story that same patrick whoever that thing was represented. How did you install into the lake in fact the lake bodies are the bald bodies and i'm supposed very significant The bog bodies that would be the ultimate way to destroy your soul, the cast to cut your throat and throw you into the bog so they would have reserved that for them people with least honor in society pedophiles rapist.

38:52 once who betrayed the tribe, cut their throat throw them into the darkest black water of the bog and they would never reincarnate because reincarnation was incredibly central to all pagan traditions. In fact reincarnation is a central model so these would have been very intimidating spectacular and symbolic acts done by these Christian ones that show look your druids have no power. What a dirty trick that's the way it goes you know you also Write about this a little bit but i love to hear about magical advisors of the elite everybody knows john d and queen elizabeth but you mentioned peter the great. And him having a guy named general james bruce who kind of served as similar function as a sort of royal wizard and that's a pairing i haven't heard much about,

CHAPTER 13 / 19 Discussion

General James Bruce and the Russian Imperial Occult

General James Bruce, a Scottish aristocrat, served as a royal wizard and scientific advisor to Peter the Great in Imperial Russia. Operating out of the Sukharev Tower in Moscow, Bruce was rumored to possess a legendary black magic text and consulted spirits to predict the future of the empire. This historical thread highlights the consistent use of magical advisors by global elites, a practice that continued through the fall of the Soviet Union.

peter the great· james bruce· russia· moscow· black magic

39:43 Yeah, I would have probably not written the book on sorcery if i didn't come across all this information. When the Soviet Union fell All the things that could have gotten from the soviet union all the things they could've discovered from them taken from why did the source foundation go over to soviet union by a bottle of books on magic and the occult in alchemy assembled with all the leading scholars at these subjects academic ones of course in fordham university in nineteen ninety one. And then from this basically explore what why would you interested in the russian occult well the same reason they were interested in the cult of third reich, these guys want to know this stuff it's like

40:21 You know corny list and will set the millionaires don't use astrology billionaires do now. This county character fascinating character that peter great well, dad the roman family he was very much fascinated by magic and witchcraft be had like Basically finish which is as his counsels within the court and things like this he was very much in the things like minerals and crystals and stuff like that healing properties of them now what does call county i got a present interesting character it was a scottish aristocrat. Who ended up being the school all navigation on sciences, in moscow in place called sugar tower

41:02 No this is the thing that shows up again with a great portuguese age of discovery john d with his creation of the royal navy link between c pairing maritime exploration and. The cold and that period is very very strong i mean when john d came up with the idea of the british empire impior a specifically mentioned the kind of ships that the spirits have told them to build the same you built from. England, Ireland and Scotland and Wales. And there were specific classes of ship that was exactly what they needed to take out the Spanish Emirate. And basically just seriously undermine the Spanish Empire. And then you have this idea of how central the Knights Templar were to the Portuguese

41:48 great age of exploration maritime expiration and the great in the shukra tower moscow and count yacob were also central this idea that somehow the occult and seafaring, in terms of navigation went hand in hand now you're not counting up used to produce a book it was called blackbook who's basically at black magic text which he said to have someone demons account about the future it was sold as an almanac every single year. and the great of the good of Russian society would always buy this book and consulted for the years ahead. Now remember, just at a time when Russia really became a great empire it really went out from you know this is the Great Imperial Age of Russia in the development of Russia as a superpower in terms of naval and other ideas and there was the enlightenment and all these other great scientific processes were going on as well as magic which is also central to it as well. And Count Jacob

42:43 kept a book of what they said the greatest black magic text known to. The world and walled open secret compartments inside the shukra tower after the russian revolution i think was in nineteen thirties the bolsheviks decided to demolish this record because he said it was a symbol of the old imperial russia we never found out for sure if those books were ever found or not but again, write the heart of the main empire is the magical consultant I love it man, that's an amazing thread because of all the corners of the globe. The Russian occult is probably the thread I hear about the least. So, i just think that it's really interesting you make some great points about why is that where the attention is on those occult books and we've seen it at many other periods in history too they say there's nothing to this stuff if you don't even need to worry about it but yet they're very seemingly obsessed with it so definitely can take what they said face value and

CHAPTER 14 / 19 Discussion

Modern Culture as a Sea of Black Magic Sorcery

Modern societal structures such as marketing, public relations, and extreme patriotism are characterized as forms of black magic designed to alter human perception. These systems aim to turn individuals into automatons by embedding specific beliefs into their subconscious minds. This perspective aligns with Terrence McKenna’s assertion that "culture is not your friend," viewing societal norms as spells cast by those in power to control the collective will.

black magic· mind control· marketing· propaganda· terrence mckenna

43:42 You know you have a lot of really great history in the book, but to bring it up to modern times There's a quote I really like here where you say This book is designed to help the reader create a barrier against the forces that have been Masticating upon your soul since the time. You were an infant and That's provocative. You know that's what I'm talking about But can you elaborate on the forces? You're referring to there you everyone we know when everyone listen at this show is We don't want to admit it we were born into a world where our purpose was to become. Automaton suspended in the sea of sorcery that was not around sorcerer you can call up marketing you call the public relations and you can call it mind control you go jingoism propaganda, extreme patriotism religion but these are all magical ideas and we replaced them like rats laboratory

44:39 And we were given serious beliefs and things that we are supposed to embrace into our souls. Who we are as individuals and there's a culture, we never accept them we just think the truth will be just go along with them they're all black magic spells you know take away all the hype and take away all the sensationalism of kids you know writing six six six on a crucifix in some cemetery while listening to Slayer back in the 80s or something. Take all that away, what black magic really is it's to get inside someone else's consciousness and to alter their perception of reality not according to their needs but according to your desires and will. And that's what black magic is and we live in a world where you're dealing with politics whether you're dealing with religion marketing corporations

45:28 We are on the culture in particular, Terrence McKenna wasn't a million miles off when he said cultures not your friend. Although I disagree to an extent because he was probably talking about American culture and then there's all kinds of different culture out there good and bad very empowering and stifling it wasn't specific but i know exactly where the man is coming from And that's just it we're automatons suspended in a sea of sorcery You know there's no end of individuals and organizations if you don't do it yourself they're more than willing to do it for ya. Absolutely. And kind of on the same theme, you have a great paragraph on a blog post Don't Love Your Enemies and Parasites, Banish Them! where you write that one of the most wickedest concepts ever given to humans from Christianity was the idea of loving ones' enemies this along with the monstrously dangerous notion of unconditional love were both

CHAPTER 15 / 19 Discussion

Critique of Christian Doctrines of Unconditional Love and Non-Resistance

The Christian concepts of "loving your enemies" and "unconditional love" are critiqued as psychological tools designed to make populations docile and easy to oppress. This doctrine of non-resistance is contrasted with the Vedic teachings in the Bhagavad Gita and the warrior spirit of the Vikings, who resisted Christianization for centuries. The segment argues that these religious tenets serve the interests of the state by discouraging resistance against predatory power structures.

christianity· bhagavad gita· vikings· unconditional love· pacifism

46:22 specifically designed to make humans weak and docile, so power structures could control and oppress them more effectively. As a result our personal and private lives are also constantly in a state of damage control while trying to deal with the everyday parasites and cretins who are trying to feed off our life energy all this while we attempt to remain decent and sociable individuals I am right there with ya that's another component to the box that were put in today is these kind of things and they sound great on the surface but maybe there's a deeper reason why their given to us did you know eat out of like a horse saddlebag i mean how can you disagree with.

47:06 Your lamp to the slaughter don't think if someone comes to destroy you don't offer resistance well in every case who's coming to destroy your state the machine. The mechanism of control the emergence of nonsense the pathological a dead mortal gods of your reality oh don't hate them love them enemy Turn the other cheek. You compare that to in the Vedas, in the Bhagavad Gita where Arjuna who's responded at the Battle of Purvashthi before the god Shiva and his chariot what does Shiva say? Fight Arjuna fight!

47:43 That's why the Vikings lasted so long. That's why the Vikings were after the Charlemagne had the bloody verdict of Berdun and cold-bloodedly executed 4000 Saxons who refused to become Christians, they knew that their turn was next. They didn't sit around and wait for you know their enemy to come so they could love them. There were 300 years or so direct warfare between the pagans of the viking world in the christian the fact that i don't think it's like this to begin with a viking world you talk on the windows fire monastery that was basically military operation those monasteries were filled with lights they're all retired nights there are two teeth and they were castles pushing christianity on the masses.

48:28 And so yeah i mean to the cheek of me give your hands are ridiculous in life when you get away from all this sort of christian programming, you say what a crock of shit that was sold with all that. Cheers to that. And to talk about the spiritual side, a good quote from the book is that A demon loves nothing more than a tortured failed poet with an opium addiction and I get that but what could be said about demons in the world in general? And the effects they can have and how to know if we're being affected by one or some... I don't really know what a demonist for sure all I know is they exist They absolutely exists

CHAPTER 16 / 19 Discussion

Nature of Demons and Entities in Magical Practice

Demons and other entities like fairies and grey aliens are described as forms of consciousness existing outside the standard human experience of space-time. In the Western magical tradition, practitioners often sought to capture or exploit these forces for information or power, treating them as adversarial tools rather than objects of worship. Engaging with these subjects often results in "strangeness," such as the unexplained failure of electronic appliances or physical disturbances in the environment.

demons· fairies· grey aliens· oberon· consciousness

49:07 whether they're an aspect of a separate consciousness form, a different kind of consciousness. Whether they are an aspect over our own consciousness but they do there's sort of supplementary other daemon to use the original greek term that are other manifested consciouss that exist outside the human experience I'm not just talking about the idea of demons in the classical sense or the christian sense i am also talking about things like fairies I'm also things like elves aliens especially the great idea all through history we have these companions are they some kind of adversarial group at war with us maybe i don't know. Are there a pathological feedback loop which humanity creates for itself in order to

49:59 Light a fire on their own conscious to deal with them to explore cells in terms of boosting our consciousness is white, rim was in the country raged at the monica and these are so central to the magic of the renaissance they were pushing and put me like they were pushing the idea that if i can get beyond myself and contact these creatures. Are these entities that are not found to this space time and ask the primary purpose you get information about the future past and present show this is big i mean the whole thing a demons not just the christian idea they're all tormenting it's a power force you can capture to turn yourself into a kind of god if you can catch his power force and then exploited attributes which is why when you do this you treat them very shabbily.

50:46 you will get information about lost items this is basically what the cunning folk of london did back in say the time of restoration when the puritan age ended, they would summon an entity called oberon which is also mentioned in shakespeares mid summer nights dream and oberon was basically a king of the fairies. Interesting it was portrayed in arabic form very similar to how jinn would be portrayed in their islamic entity tradition to get information lost good space the idea was you would get the demon traffic and you wouldn't let it go until you got what you want the problem or told where the money was hitting her, what race horse is gonna win this race in this kind of thing are information about give me great magical power.

51:32 So yeah what they are exactly i don't know again like magic day will come looking for you if you're not coming looking for them and, i have so many people read my book source of the invocation strangers and say so many weird things happen to me in the book. Electric appliances that were brand new failed no fix them the wording on their house Add problems books and photographs with fly off walls now it's not that they become possessed or anything like that but when you start taking an interest in these subjects its almost like a demonic friends take an interest in you. Ninety nine point nine percent of the time they mean no harm just being curious there just being observational what the absolute do exist,

Thomas Sheridan Online Resources and Upcoming Events

Thomas Sheridan concludes the interview by directing listeners to his website, thomassheridanarts.com, and his YouTube channel, OpenSourceOccultTV. He announces upcoming appearances in St. Louis and a specialized event focusing on fairies and magic in Salzburg, Austria, scheduled for September. The host expresses appreciation for Sheridan's deep knowledge of the Druidic code and his unique perspective on the intersection of magic and the elite class.

52:20 I can put my hand on my heart and say that, and they're from the same world as the fairies and the grey aliens. Yeah man! And i love that phrase beings not bound to this space-time because i definitely think that time is a component as well and you can get so much insight from these things it seems...I mean not personally but i've seen so many examples and little sagas of it happening that i'm inclined to believe it but Man, really great stuff. There's just so much lost history and knowledge we're really lucky to have passionate advocates of its resurrection out there like you so big thanks for doing it justice and before I cut you loose tell the people where they can find you your blog your YouTube your books anything else you might be working on next? I've got some events coming up i'm going to be doing a event

53:16 Where is the car st louis and maria weekly quite no money, the scenes and we're gonna be doing a thing on ferries in magic and the berg. In salzburg austria beginning september so i need to listen central europe is more about the great couple of days exploring that your manager magical tradition and other things visiting someone very powerful places within the germanic magical world night here are both being also going to australian later in the year probably back to us My website is thomassheridanarts.com, the links to all the books are there sourced through the druid code right at the front page my best youtube channel for what we've been talking about today is opensourceocculttv and you can get everything from that. 54:12 And likewise thank you very much Greg and many more strings to your bow on THC. Likewise man thanks take care bye bye. Sweet lords and lasses of the oham right guys see people think i'm some kind of intelligent person then I pronounce something like om oham, like a good missouri boy would be expected to do i was gonna record that but it was funny enough to keep And maybe I'm always this bad, but pronunciation lately has been a real challenge. Especially this week and last. But Thomas Sheridan folks! A fun guest you probably were not expecting knowledgeable about the old ways schooled in the magical arts i like his style i like his vibe i liked his bit about Crowley and the Loch Ness Monster we learned about history that i doubt a lot of people knew

CHAPTER 18 / 19 Discussion

Review of THC Magic Archives and Newgrange Reflections

The host reflects on the growing library of magic-themed episodes on The Higher Side Chats, citing past guests like Gordon White, Stephen Skinner, and Lon Milo Duquette. A personal anecdote about visiting Newgrange and purchasing a replica of the entrance stone highlights the psychedelic nature of ancient Irish traditions. The segment concludes with a summary of the second-hour topics available to Plus subscribers, including the magical importance of salt and quartz crystals.

higher side chats· newgrange· laird scranton· gordon white· stephen skinner

55:04 Some figures of history that are lesser known, some sagas of that all-important crossroads where the elite class and magic intersect. Good stuff! Good dude and I would recommend his book Sorcery In fact he's got a pretty solid personal library across the board A lot other books i'd like to get into but this was a great addition To the long list of guests who have talked about their insight and perspective on magic And that's a long highly learned list at this point Sometimes I look back and think about just this slice of shows that are on Magic from a personal perspective, and it's kind of crazy the library we have. Philip Farber, Dr. Stephen Skinner, Gordon White, Doctor David Shoemaker Jason Miller a couple times Mike Sententia That right there should just be a playlist of the different schools of Magic in the different perspectives on them

55:59 You know, I even think back to the fact that we had Lon Milo Duquette on really early in the THC Life Circle. I can't seem to get him back now but we had him then and that was when i was just super entry level to all this stuff but that's all just to say that i think Thomas Sheridan fits in nicely with those guests and still has a voice of his own Sometimes I think about the archives of this show, the way a Star Wars fanatic probably thinks about collecting memorabilia. It's like okay well let's look at the spread where is there gap? Let's fill that gap right there oh i need a Millennium Falcon! I could use a couple more Jawas but I do like that when I look at the collective library of THC shows you give me any subject and I pretty much have a couple go-to episodes I can pull out and say here's our best on that

56:52 And I don't know, I just got thinking about how our magic library is stacking up and it's quite good. I'm always impressed with people who know anything about older cultures too or even know enough about different cultures to get into comparative work because that seems really hard to do and maintain any kind of accuracy There was that moment today where Thomas mentions that we should amalgamate the druidic traditions with the Vedic, and I just thought hey let's get Laird Scranton back here and you guys can sort it all out. We also talked about Newgrange a little bit which is such an awesome site look up some pictures but it's just one of those many mysterious sites in that region one that I've actually been to

57:36 And we mentioned the big entrance stone that was there. From what I understand, they had to move it to go inside but that stone is pretty awesome just like a big guardrail sized rock with spirals cut all over it. I thought it was so cool that I actually did buy a replica in the gift shop! Like a regular old chump But I just loved that it spoke to these psychedelic quality of these traditions. I mean the rock looks like an ancient tie-dyed shirt as far as I'm concerned Of course, there are many ways to get to that place where you do see the underlying structure of reality. The ones and zeros if you will I don't know how they were doing it? I can't say they used entheogens or compounds in particular but they definitely got there

58:22 Regardless, loved this show. Really interesting first hour and as interesting as that first hour was you know there's a second hour for paid subscribers and in it we covered the fairy family tree Thomas' magical worldview and personal experiences creating ways to generate that magical charge the attack on the imagination and the magical importance of salt and quartz crystal Crystal's been coming up a lot lately, hasn't it? But I love the full show here. Big thanks to Thomas for sharing his knowledge! I was humbled to know that he's actually listened to the show before and that always makes me feel good but do check out his work tell him thanks if you had a good time and i guess i'm gonna declare this meeting of The Midnight Society closed your move sorcery suppressors druid destroyers and captains of the big long steamroll of history your fucking move

CHAPTER 19 / 19 Discussion

Closing Musical Track and Sign-off

The episode concludes with a custom musical track reflecting the show's themes of skepticism, magic, and resistance to control. The lyrics encourage listeners to "end up your magic game" and listen to THC to "drown out the noise" of a scary world. The host provides a final sign-off, challenging the "sorcery suppressors" and "druid destroyers" of history.
