Greg Carlwood Announces San Diego Higherside Chats Meetup
Greg Carlwood announced the first official Higherside Chats listener meetup in San Diego to foster community among the show's audience. The event is scheduled for Sunday, September 19th, at 5:00 PM at The Tipsy Crow. A listener named Joe facilitated the venue arrangements, and attendees can bypass lines and cover charges by mentioning the host's name. Carlwood emphasized the importance of finding like-minded individuals in an increasingly isolated social climate.

00:04 Hello, hello Hireside Chatters! Greg Carlwood here hijacking your RSS feed to say that we are having a THC meetup here in San Diego. It's finally happening 10 years in and I think we're due The importance of finding the others and making community has never been more obvious I'm sure many of us have seen our relationships change recently and were frustrated with any and all news coverage that makes us feel like the minority, makes us feel isolated, and borderline demonized at this point. And while I have been seeking out events and opportunities to meet like-minded people where I can...I've yet to take advantage of my biggest opportunity and unite the local THC tribe!
00:45 Don't think of it as a rally, and it certainly isn't a talk of any kind. This is more like a higher-side family reunion that we're all well overdue for... where we can meet all our weird cousins thrice removed that we didn't even know we had! It seems many of us are looking for similar things and it's started to feel almost like a responsibility for me to take advantage of what we've built in the digital space and make it real That said, we have a listener named Joe who happens to work at the Tipsy Crow in the heart of town and he said we're more than welcome to come on down. He will let the door guys know the deal just say you are with Greg Carlwood and there should be no line, cover or hassle...and will most likely be upstairs in a dark corner somewhere But it's this Sunday September 19th, lets say 5pm since its a work night for many of us out there And we will have a good hang
01:38 I'll bring a little sign-up sheet if people want to give me their contact info and we can organize future hangs if this one goes as expected. But of course, no pressure! And as awkward it can be to suck up and walk into the unknown...it's going to get more awkward when our window of opportunity closes before we use it. So come be among new friends and we'll make some magic happen September 19th at 5pm at The Tipsy Crow, and there is not much more to know. See you there, take care
